Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was accorded a rousing welcome by the people of Jammu on his arrival for the biannual Darbar Move today. The Chief Minister interacted with traders and civil society members at Shahidi Chowk and Raghunath Bazar before being received with a Guard of Honour at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Mohita Sharma, conducted a visit to the border areas of the Hiranagar sector in Kathua district to review the prevailing security scenario and assess preparedness along the International Border.
During the visit, SSP Sharma interacted with officers and jawans deployed in the area and took stock of border security arrangements, ongoing patrolling measures, and coordination between police and BSF. She emphasized maintaining a high level of alertness in view of recent cross-border activities and directed the personnel to ensure strict surveillance in sensitive zones.
The SSP also reviewed the logistics and operational readiness of the border outposts and appreciated the efforts of security personnel for their dedication and vigilance in safeguarding the region.
She reiterated that close synergy among security agencies is vital to ensure peace and stability in the border belt of Kathua district.
