In our latest vlog, we step away from the property renovations to get our hands dirty with a massive local tradition. We gathered the grapes under beautiful blue skies, cleaned out the bad bits, and dumped everything into the barrels for the big squeeze. 🍇
It’s hard work, but there is nothing quite like tasting your own homemade village wine after a year of waiting. Graham thinks its going to be the best wine yet, just look at the activity in the wine so far in the attached picture.

The Ultimate Christmas Debate: Pure Genius or Culinary Crime?!

Alright, we need to settle a massive festive debate in the Butterfly Cottage kitchen, and things are getting tense! While doing the first feeding of the cake we ended up in a disagreement about how Christmas cake should be served.

There are two types of people in this world when Christmas cake rolls around:

1️⃣ The Traditionalists: You want a rich, dark, boozy slice of cake, maybe a bit of marzipan or icing, and absolutely nothing else touching it.

2️⃣ The "Cheese Squad": You firmly believe that a slice of rich Christmas cake is incomplete without a thick slab of sharp, mature Cheddar or crumbly Wensleydale sitting right on top.

In some parts of the UK, it’s a sacred law. In other parts it sounds like absolute madness.

We won't reveal just yet who on the team is Team Cheese and who is Team Cake-Only... but we want to hear from you first. Maybe you can guess who is who?
