Today’s a big day!

Happy #IndieAnimationDay!

For the past two or so years, I’ve been developing a little Dino animated show called Neo-Meso Post!

I talk a lot about it on my social media but hadn’t yet crossed the boundary of finally putting it up on YouTube!

Today that changes, as I’ve released an update video talking about the shift the channel will be taking in the future, my appreciation towards the Warrior Cats community that got me this far so many years ago, as well as introducing NMP to you all!

Heeeeeey, long time no see xD

Hope you all are doing well and having a good 2023 so far! I’ve been well! Just busy as heck xD

I know things have been a bit quiet on my end, and I’m sure you all want an update on Ashfur All Along or any other projects xD

Truthfully the answer is…I’m not sure xD

The brief stint of time where I churned out MAP parts left and right was a lot of fun, but as I’ve gone on, I’ve realized something.

I don’t like doing frame by frame animation xD
I absolutely adore 2D animation with every fiber of my being, but that one Nightcloud animation I did pretty much burned me out on that form of animation. I do not find it fun or rewarding Bc I always want to move onto the next thing and not spend 50 hours on the same character all at once xD (doesn’t help that I do it really inefficiently)

It reminded me of my weeklong preview year of SCAD where they had us animate on lightboxes, and I was so glad I took that class Bc I switched what major I wanted to pursue and I never wanted to flip paper ever again xD

That being said, I still do love making PMV videos ^^ I actually wanna dip my toes into proper video production that’s not just MAP parts. I suppose that I felt in some ways that in order to improve or do more ambitious things that I’d have to incorporate frame by frame more and more. As a perfectionist I started dreading it xD

Hence the pause.

I also wanted to pose a question to you all, given some of the discussion I’ve seen on Twitter and my current mood. I’ve got to be in a certain flow to do MAP parts, especially given that I’ve sort of edged out of doing non-commission work most of the time. I still do enjoy making videos and even directing MAPs ^^

So here’s my question.

How do you all feel about people who host maps, do all the art direction, management, and final editing, without actually having a part in the MAP themselves?

Ofc being a writer, producer, or director, editor is a job all on its own. Realistically it’s as valid a job as an animator or illustrator portfolio wise. I’ve been toying with the idea since I’ve had so many ideas for MAPs in the past, and some that are nearly fully finished and ready to host for a while.

I’d be happy to assist participants with backgrounds and maybe also editing, but I wasn’t sure how people would feel about MAP creators hosting without doing parts themselves. I don’t wanna make it seem like I’m posting others works for views or numbers. Especially when realistically I’m wouldn’t be doing *nothing*…

Idk, I’ve literally been thinking about it for months xD

What do you all think? ^^ I’d love to hear your feedback!

Thinking out loud while working on stuff n things.
The recent ych trend has been so cool, and I think I’ve found some audio that would allow a bunch of people to get slots in the same video. We’re talking like...29 unique characters.
If slots went for like...$25 or $30 a piece, would anyone be interested in doing that?

Not saying this will happen anytime soon, but it’s just an interest check ^^
