A bit of a heads up for the upcoming video.

About halfway through editing, BHVR has announced that the anti-tunnel and anti-slugging mechanics introduced in the 9.2.0 PTB for DbD will NOT be going onto live alongside the perk changes made because of these mechanics getting reverted. Instead, they will be held back for further changes. Thanks to this, my PTB review is essentially going to be outdated already.

However, I am going to talk about my thoughts on them anyway for the sake of the video and it, you know, being the first iteration of a highly impactful set of mechanics I want to give constructive feedback on. Just remember they aren’t gonna be on the live build.

Heya peeps!

As stated in the QnA, the next video being posted will be related to Outlast Trials in order to get the secondary game ball rolling. That said, the video will be a bit on the shorter side, partly due to not having the whole definitive lore of Outlast down just yet and me trying to see if I can possibly attempt to shoot for a double upload this week.

If you’ve been paying attention to the DbD scene, we’ve got a lot going on. We got our newest killer, the Krasue, revealed, an upcoming Myers rework, major changes to tunneling and slugging, and a whole lot more to chat about. The only reason I didn’t put off the upcoming Outlast video is because I want to save my thoughts on all this stuff until we get definitive numbers on all the new stuff once the PTB goes live. I also think a lot of people are overreacting and getting ahead of themselves to the patch notes as well, as it’s just the PTB ones; we have about a month before they hit live, so while I do agree there’s some scary stuff in there if they get shipped as is in regards to killer gameplay, I’m choosing to stay calm and wait until we know what is 100% for sure coming to live before I join in with the pitchforks and torches lol.

Hello guys! I come with an update to the channel branch out situation. I’ve spent a ton of time thinking over how I’m going to proceed with the channel since DbD’s been in a bit of a rough spot rn, so a bit of your time, if I may?

Firstly, my existing DbD content. Despite everything BHVR’s said in their apologies and their QoL part 2 roadmap, I’ve lost faith in them, and I want to see actions rather than words. However, I do acknowledge that DbD was the game that kickstarted the channel, and, if I’m being honest, despite everything going on with DbD rn, I don’t hate the game itself, I really don’t. Myself and countless other creators wouldn’t be so vocal about our annoyance with how the game’s been handled if we didn’t care about it. We want to see it succeed! In my case, I’m more-so just mad at BHVR rather than the game, a “separate the art from the artist” scenario, if you will. After thinking about it some more and realizing why I’ve been upset with DbD, I’ve decided that I will continue to cover the game with all my goofy and serious topics as per usual, but they’ll be happening less frequently.

This leads to the next point I wanted to bring up addressing why DbD content will be a bit less frequent: the content branch out. This is still happening, and I’ve talked about it aplenty. If you guys were confused as to why a Lethal Company video about scrap values showed up on your feeds on a primarily DbD focused channel, this is why. In addition to the DbD content you all know and love, I’m going to start experimenting with about 1-2 other indie horror/horror adjacent games to yap about on the side, so if any of you want some extra stuff to listen to me ramble about, there you go. These videos will be the main focus for the next couple weeks since I need time to get the games’ own playlists made to separate them from the DbD stuff, let the algorithm have time to adjust to the changes, and I just don’t have the energy to deal with DbD rn. Fully expecting the non-DbD videos to not do great early on thanks to the target demographic changes, but hey, Rome wasn’t built overnight. Once I get a flow going with the new stuff, we should be back on track to cover DbD again, especially since September is giving us that one folklore chapter BHVR was talking about at PAX.

Now, with all the changes coming up, how is this going to affect my format? To keep it blunt, it won’t. Ever since I’ve started posting, my main channel goal was to create an environment where we can all have lighthearted discussion over the video topic of the week and just generally have a good time! I don’t exactly plan on changing my format because of the addition of 1-2 extra games on top of DbD. If anything, I’ve been slow and steadily improving it over the course of the channel’s lifespan to increase the video quality. So regardless of whether you’re here on this channel because of me, DbD, one of the alternate games featured, or all of the above, the content format will remain the same throughout! The only difference will be what the content itself discussed that week is.

Thanks for reading all this if you got this far. Basic tl;dr of this entire thing is “I’m gonna cover a couple more games for variety reasons (as for which games…you’ll see ;) ), DbD will still be covered despite this because I’m more annoyed with BHVR than the game itself, and the content format won’t change in the slightest. I’ll see you all in the 1,000 sub QnA special next week! I didn’t forget about that, I was just busy with the Lethal Company video when we hit that milestone. Cheers!

Heya peeps!

I’m currently working on the first non-DbD video as per the content shift I’ve talked about a ton as of the past couple weeks. I swear, the more I hear about how DbD is going right now, the more I’m confident that I’m making the right decision in not giving the game my time. The video should hopefully be out later this week/early next week assuming all goes well.

Secondly, I’ve noticed that I’m close to reaching the second subscriber goal of 1k! As a special thank you to everyone for sticking with me and supporting the channel, I’m going to be creating a casual QnA special once the earlier mentioned video is out, assuming we’re still on track to reach it by then. As a result, if you’d like to ask me anything for me to answer on that video, feel free to comment the questions here! Just make sure you behave yourselves and keep it normal and appropriate, otherwise I’ll likely be skipping over it when assembling the full question list for the video. Depending on turnout, I may/may not be able to answer everyone’s questions, but we’ll see how it goes once it comes time for me to compile the question list

Heya peeps. Bit of bad news incoming regarding the channel, so bear with me here.

So, with the most recent video I just posted, I’ve been having a rough time having the motivation to play DbD right now, as a lot of my enjoyment comes from playing killer, and with the double slam of “heal meta” + The Walking Dead chapter that released yesterday, I pretty much lack the motivation to make exclusively DbD content at the moment. Shit just feels really bad right now. Because of this, I got one more DbD video in the works right now, but after that video drops, I’m going to be doing a content shift to some other games while I take a break from DbD content creation since…well…I don’t want to leave the channel hanging despite my displeasure with DbD right now.

That said, while I’m fully prepared for the channel to take a hit because of this decision, I do think it’s ultimately for the best for the moment, as my mental state for this game is not the best currently and I’ve been forcing myself to make videos, which is not only hurting my mental further, it’s also affecting the video quality to standards I’m not satisfied with. I don’t want to create subpar content because I’m forcing myself to, I want to record and create content because it’s something I enjoy and it gives me the chance to share with people the games I like and the experiences I have. I’d like to do things on my own terms rather than because I feel obligated to. That being said, this won’t be the end of DbD content on this channel; I’m absolutely planning to do more in the future. I just need to step away from the game’s content creation scene for a little while and take a break. DbD content will still happen, just not as frequently.

As for what’s next to be covered on the channel…nothing’s fully set in stone currently, so for you dedicated viewers, what all would you guys be interested in seeing beyond the slower DbD content stream going forward? Feel free to leave games/genre suggestions below!

Heya peeps! Sorry that I’ve been inactive for a little bit, next video is taking longer than I expected. Recording the script alone took half an hour, and that’s not including time spent researching every killer’s lore and source material as well.

If the video isn’t out by the end of this week, it’ll for sure be out early next week. Right now, it’s shaping up to be around the length of the “One Changes I’d Make to Everyone” vid, so it’s 100% going to be one of the longest non-PTB review vids I’ve done so far. Bear with me here, it’ll be out when it’s ready, just like the rest of my uploads and my upload schedule lol.

Break week's off, so next video has dropped!

As for what I took the week off for, part of it was due to Switch 2 shenanigans, but the bigger reason was because I am preparing to start streaming on this channel soon! Already did an unlisted test stream to verify everything, and it all works great, so I'll be ready to do it publicly in the next week or so once I get some finer details ironed out. Once I'm all set, my streaming schedule will be posted in the discord server each week.
