QiYoga With LuChin

Welcome to QiYoga With LuChin!

Over the past few decades, QiYoga has improved my health more than I could have ever expected. I now hope to share these practices with all of you. My unique blend of QiYoga, which brings together the beauty of Yoga and Qigong, helps manage stress, soothe tension, tone muscles, and improve mental focus. The holistic self-care remedies based on traditional Chinese medicine have brought tremendous relief to my chronic pain caused by arthritis and Sjogren’s syndrome. I now feel ‘young’ in my 60s, and I sincerely hope these practices will help you as well.

The Best Medicine is in our Body! Let's Tap Into It!

Love ❤️

There are two powerful Qigong practices that support skeletal alignment and promote the free flow of Qi throughout the body. They also beautifully embody the Taoist philosophy: 大道至简 (dà dào zhì jiǎn)—“The greatest Tao is often the simplest.”

What are they? Join us to find out—and to support your optimal health—during our LIVE session on Thursday, May 24th at 2:00 PM CST. Not a member yet? Signing up is easy! Just visit www.qiyogawithluchin.com to join the membership.

QiYoga practice supports longevity, beautifully symbolized by the Chinese character 壽 (shòu)—or 寿 in simplified form.

We had such a fun time practicing Guǎngbò tǐcāo (广播体操) this morning—a true kinetic exercise with lots of body-and-brain coordination!

The class ended with a beautiful conversation, sparked by Dana sharing her newly purchased book on Chinese characters. The cover featured 壽 (shòu)—or 寿 in simplified Chinese—meaning “longevity.” It instantly reminded me of the elegantly trimmed pine trees at the Japanese Imperial Palace in Tokyo, which are shaped to resemble that very character.

Vladimira then shared her book on Chinese Proverbs (中國成語), and Stephanie showed us her love for calligraphy—offering to send birthday cards adorned with her own calligraphy 壽 / 寿 to anyone in the community who’d like one for their birthdays. It was such a joy to see how many members are genuinely interested in Chinese writing and culture—it added a beautiful, heartfelt layer to our time together.

Wow, what a wonderful class! So much more than just movement or exercise. It truly reflected how caring, supportive, curious, and joyful this community is. As Vladimira beautifully put it in her email:
“We continued to connect on different levels that I think are also important for our health and well-being.”

Thank you all for making it so special! If you’re not yet part of our loving community, come join us!

On our way home after a wonderful visit with our son in Austin. Took a moment at a roadside stop to stretch out those tight tendons—always good to move a little on long drives!

In Loving Memory of Fred

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our beloved Fred, a gentle soul who has been part of our family for more than 10 years (we adopted him when he was 7). When I first started my YouTube journey, Fred helped me overcome my camera shyness, standing by my side as a quiet source of comfort and encouragement. Ever since, he has been a cherished presence in our QiYoga community.

Fred wasn’t just our loyal companion—he was a peaceful, loving spirit who brought warmth and kindness to everyone who met him. His absence leaves an ache in our hearts, but we find solace in the love he gave so freely and the beautiful memories we will always carry with us.

Thank you to everyone who has shared in his journey and offered kindness and support during this time. Your presence means the world.

Rest well, sweet Fred. You will always be loved. ❤️🐾

Finally able to begin filming a few videos here in Hilton Head. It has been chilly, but with bright sun every day. I need to be careful though. I cannot film without Todd nearby as there are alligators everywhere! Especially, when it is a bit cold, but sunny. They come to the water's edge to lie in the sun and warm up. Todd took the second photo of one that was right behind me, but out of sight. 😳
