Yesterday I found my poor little dog Daisy dead behind the sofa in the living room.

I noticed she hadn’t eaten her breakfast and went looking for her. It took a while to find her because she never went in that room and never laid behind the sofa.

I feel heartbroken and my only consolation is that she’s finally reunited with my mom. They had an incredibly strong bond and Daisy has been miserable since my mom passed away. In her view, mom just left home one day and never came back.

The night after my mom died, she wandered through the house all night, howling at the top of her lungs. Somehow she knew mom wasn’t coming back.

She developed severe separation anxiety and followed me everywhere, even if I just went into the next room. She slept right outside my bedroom door every night. If I had to leave, she was always very agitated when I returned, and it took her a while to calm down. I’m going to miss her very much
