HAPPY INDEPENDENT BOOKSTORE DAY! Go out a check out your local book shops today! Sure there are some crazy deals online at the big name guy… but today isn’t about them… support your local community!!! Let me tell you about my favorite Vegas Valley stores:
@buffysbookboutique Is the cutest shop with the cutest fluffy owner, Buffy!
@thebookshelf.vegas is a mobile bookstore who stops at all areas of town and today is at the Henderson Reads Book Festival!
@coppercatbooksnv offers the most amazing selection of used bookstore selections with a sprinkling of new… plus bookstore cats!
@lvccld Our local libraries are also supporting local by visiting and buying from their used bookstore selections!
@rdtalleybooks_lasvegas won’t be in store today, but if you’re in the Los Angeles area, you can check them out at the LATimes Festival of Books then check their instagram for current shop hours!
@madredbooks isn’t even open yet! But we can show some love and support by following them and getting ready for their grand opening this summer!
@xoxobookboutique Just had their grand opening yesterday and is a romance themed store!! Fall in love with them today!
@thewritersblocklv is a Las Vegas staple and a must visit for tourists! @lasvegasbooks is another local used bookstore who stops store where you never know what treasures you’ll find!
Recently I visited Milwaukee & Chicago and was able to support some of their local bookstores! @thelastchapterchi (romance book shop with the best selfie corners, visit their bathroom… just trust me!), @goblin.mkt had an amazing manga and light novel selection plus hundred of comic books and hobby supplies, @quimbysbookstore offers the coolest selection of zines from all genres and creatives, @downtownbooksmilwaukee has three floors of used books foryou to get lost in, @nichebookbarllc is the newest black owned store addition to Milwaukee with the cutest little book work assistant! Where ever you decide to spend your money today, just be sure to support the local little guy! We love their dedication and passion for reading and knowledge! Hey Fellow Makers! I just wanted to give a heads up on a “company” that that has recently started showing up in FB ads selling patterns with acrylic templates called CHELLIMO. They’re stealing their images and video from content creators that offer free patterns and passing them off as their own. How do I know? They’re selling an Ice Cream Bowl cozy pattern using MY video and photos… including some with my cropped out face.
Please don’t give them your money. I’m worried that if you do get anything it won’t be what you thought you were paying for if you get anything at all. The phone number on their website is US based but does not belong to that company. So likely they’re an overseas scam.
I know this isn’t the first or last time this will happen. I’ve reported them but FB claims it’s not a violation of their community standards. To claim my intellectual property, I have to provide my address which they in turn share with the company that I’m reporting. Since I don’t have a business address, I’m not comfortable sharing my home address and risk being harassed.
So… best I can do is let y’all know. If you’re a creator check them out and see if your stuff is up there too. Much love to everyone! 😘 These are some of the images they’re stealing and using.
