Welcome to the world of Dream, Girl — hosted by Dr. Sheen Gurrib.
I’m a Cambridge PhD, Oxford grad, ex-consultant, and now award-nominated podcaster on a mission to help women become powerful, confident, and unstoppable.
Here, you’ll find unfiltered conversations with iconic women across the world — actors, founders, influencers, creators — all sharing what it really takes to succeed. We talk career highs, heartbreaks, identity, ambition, money, and what it means to be that girl in a world that wasn’t built for us.
If you’re a woman chasing big dreams (or just figuring it out), this is your space. New episodes of Dream, Girl every Monday — plus raw, real content in between.

There is a bigger threat to the entertainment industry and it is not AI. It is content creators.
At the World Government Summit, I hosted a powerful conversation around one defining question: are creators about to replace Hollywood? What we uncovered was not just surprising, it felt inevitable.
Audiences today are not just watching stories, they are watching people. Creators bring something studios cannot manufacture: trust, relatability, and direct connection. When people feel emotionally connected to a creator, they do not just consume content, they support it, follow it, and build community around it.
Creators are also winning on speed. While Hollywood moves through layers of approvals, high budgets, and long timelines, creators can create, publish, and adapt in real time. A creator can know within minutes what resonates. That agility is changing everything.
Yes, creators may have smaller budgets, but those limits are fuelling a new wave of creativity and innovation. The truth is simple. Hollywood will have to evolve.
Creators are no longer just internet personalities. They are becoming the next generation of filmmakers, storytellers, and global media businesses.
The creator economy is not coming. It is already here and accelerating faster than anyone expected.
Grateful to have hosted this conversation at the World Government Summit with Creators HQ and our incredible panelists Ammar Kandil and Ossy Marwah
Would you go to the cinema to watch a film made by your favourite creator?

Just like that, January is already over ✨
This month was filled with special moments and meaningful highlights. I had the privilege of sitting with brilliant women who are thriving boldly in their industries and truly leading the way. We spoke about the mindset shifts, decisions, and lessons that shaped their journeys.
Thank you @nori, @dr.shadezahrai.farsi and @chidiashley for sharing your stories so generously. I can’t wait for you to watch, feel seen in their words, and walk away believing more deeply in what’s possible for you too.
On the topic of incredible women, I also had the opportunity to sit on the 1 Billion Summit stage with @shelleyzalis, a moment I’m still taking in with so much gratitude.
January set the tone beautifully. Excited to see what February has in store!

Over the years, I’ve been asked countless times, what’s the best way to tell a story that actually lands, that people feel?
Here are the gems I’ve learned that help you share your story with real impact
Step 1: Speak the Truth
Share the thing you usually hide. The fear, the doubt, the moment you almost gave up. Authenticity is magnetic.
Step 2: Relive the Moment
Take us there with you. Show us the sights, sounds, feelings, let us experience it like you did.
Step 3: Leave an Emotion
End with what you want people to carry: hope, courage, permission to feel. People forget the words, but they never forget how you made them feel.
You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Your story is your strategy.
I’m currently enrolling new storytellers in The Podcast Academy. If you want to learn how to tell your story with impact, click the link in bio to find out how to work with me

Confidence doesn’t come from simply believing in yourself. It shows up when you have evidence of your ability to tackle difficult things. The more you take action even when you’re scared, the more confidence you build.
Through my own experiences of taking risks and facing challenges, I’ve learned that confidence has two levels, and most people only practice the first.
The first level is understanding your worth and knowing that you have value to contribute in the field or industry you want to pursue. Most people give up at this stage because they don’t fully understand who they are or the value they bring.
The second level is the one that truly stretches you. It’s about staying faithful to your dreams and goals, even when evidence seems to contradict your vision. In simple terms, it’s staying the course through doubt, difficulties, and failures.
The second level of confidence is what changes the game completely. It’s where persistence meets results. If you can hold true to your vision, even when everything else says otherwise, that’s when true confidence emerges.
To anyone struggling to stay confident on their path, don’t focus only on the first level. Practice and hone the second level. Self-belief despite contrary evidence is how real, lasting confidence is built.

I started filming my podcast at home during COVID, surrounded by pillows for soundproofing and sheer determination to make it work.
There was no fancy setup, no team, just me, a mic, and a dream.
Then came the next chapter — trying out studios across cities and countries.
From tiny rooms with borrowed mics to full-scale sets with lights and crews, I learned something new every single time. Each studio taught me how to tell stories better, how to connect deeper, and how to never wait for the “perfect” setup to start.
And now, it’s come full circle — I’m building my own studio.
A space designed by creators, for creators. A space that feels like home, but inspires like a dream.
