This doesn’t have to be complicated. A Stock is simply a representation of ownership in a company. Publicly traded stocks are shares of public companies. Publicly traded companies are traded on stock exchanges and investment in their stock is open to any and everyone. The public price of these stocks fluctuates and changes every day. Investors buy these shares in hopes that in the future they will appreciate in value and make the investor a profit.
