๐ง Emotion regulation is developmental - we learn skills to regulate our emotions as our brain develops. The part of the brain that controls this is only fully developed when we are 25 to 30 years old, so we cannot expect a 3-year-old, 13-year-old or even 23 year old to fully regulate their emotions.
Realistically, aren't we always learning this, even as fully-developed adults ๐ค
