NGL, even though I've largely moved on from TTTE content, I'm pumped this has finally seen the day of light. Will definitely be giving it a watch later, even if it's gonna pretty much be a 1:1 of the original episode lol.

there is a small amount of thomas fans who are, deep down, embarrassed and insecure that they like thomas, so they slag it off (and the fandom) to make themselves look "cool" and "mature" and "I'm not like them" and "i like REEL trains, not tommy baby twain" as if they're some special snowflake or more enlightened or something. you're all in the same bucket. stop trying to act like you're special or something lol you're not better than anyone. you know the ones: the ones who are always quick to make "thomas fans when" or "thomas fandom when" sort of posts on twitter whenever the fandom does something of slight unpopularity; they're quick to snipe.

want something spicer? the only reason they still interact with thomas and the fandom is because they know they wont get the same level of notoriety they have within the thomas fandom in any other fandom, and since the vast majority of people in the fandom (even worse when you have four or more digits in your follower/subscriber count) can't function without having their arse kissed, they suck it up and stay in the ttte fandom even though they hate it there.

it'd be easier to just admit you don't like thomas (and the fandom) and go lol. btw if you get irked by this post you're probably the sort of person I'm addressing here.

yeah, and so was the prior stuff, so why is it different here? i definitely get the impression that there's a subsection of people who only like and defend it just to spite those who don't. mattel is not your friend nor ever will be. ever. it is a multi billon publicly traded corporation, not a charity doing you a favour, and it will do just about anything to keep their wealthiest shareholders and partners pacified. they only give a shit about you if you're holding out your credit card or a wad of cash in your hand

aeg could be canned, and the show rebooted into the most rws/tvs accurate show, with perfect animation, writing, the works... and the aeg lot would bash it out of spite because there's a subsection of thomas fans that can't enjoy the franchise unless it's at the expense of another person or group.

people really can't bring themselves to use the block/mute button on social media these days because they have the mentality instilled that doing so is letting the other person "win" (whatever that means), and their fragile asf egos can't handle "losing" (again, whatever that means)

the vast majority of stupid shit on the internet does not matter nor will affect you in the real world lol. just block/mute whatever it is that bothers you so much and move on. you do not need to "slay" or "own" or "shut down" everything or one you come across on the internet just because they said something you mildly dislike.

One thing I've learnt observing the transport community from a distance is that if someone is showing slavish, unquestioning love/support/defence to an operator/TOC/whatever, no many how shit they could get or are already, they are absolutely 100% friend/s with staff/someone at said place who they've kissed arse to in exchange for private gen that everyone will know in two weeks to a month, because having temporary exclusive gen is the only meaningful thing they have in their life. They know, deep down, they're nothing without it. Imagine pretty much relying on having exclusive gen be the only reason you enjoy the hobby lmao

I can guarantee if the staff/person they were """friends""" with stopped spoonfeeding them gen, they'd drop them without a care. #friendssolelyforgen am i rite.

Been around long enough to see it myself.
