It's been a long time coming and you've all been asking for it (sorry for the wait!), so as a final treat from this world before the launch of Season 2, I've teamed up with Cycoriot to bring you 'Freak', premiering October 24th.
We all know that Velvette designates herself as the backbone of the Vees, so I really wanted to create a track that highlighted that level of ego, confidence, and superiority she wields over those beneath her. 'Freak' takes inspiration from the harder hitting sounds of grime, garage, and bass music characteristic of London culture to create one of most complicated bits of production I've done in a long time.
Naturally given their past work getting into character, it's a pleasure to welcome Cycoriot back to fill Velvette's shoes in a way that I think captures the essence of this social media queen in a way where she knows she can back up what she says. Add into that some genuinely beautiful artwork and assets from Hunter Braly, and the insane editing magic of MrDemoVE (seriously, this video is one of the coolest things ever), I hope you're all in for a real treat.
Just remember to tag Vel, if you've got the stones for it!
You've heard the rhetoric of a tech mogul and the charms of the adult entertainment king. But you all need one final reminder of who's really in charge.
It's a massive honour to share a new song made in conjunction with some truly amazing people. I'm proud to premiere in collaboration with the Far-Fetched crew "Bleed You Dry", a brand new original song for the EDM bathead himself, Drain!
Far-Fetched and the people behind it have long been an inspiration to me on my journey through fan music and production and being asked to help write and produce this track for Drain was a really fun challenge. My aim was to make it fit in with his over-the-top spooky vibes and general EDM flair, but to keep it catchy and stand out in competition to Drain's rivalry with Sesamoid.
To that end, I had an amazing chance to once again work with Chi-Chi with their fantastic writing and vocal prowess (playing the role of Soulfiera) to bring the song to life, and also work with the voice of Drain himself Mihai Zetta to add the egotistical touch a track like this needs! (Not that Drain would ever admit to using ghost production...)
A big thank you to Ashley Nichols, Dave Capdevielle, and everyone else on the Far-Fetched team for trusting me with creating this. Check out the official lyric video at the link below, and stream/buy the song on digital storefronts now!
I'm proud to announce my new original song, 'Gonna Make It', is here August 1st. A non-fandom track that harkens back to the peak years of late 2000s dance music, this one was an extremely important thing for me to write in the wake of personal events have kept me so tied up over the last few months.
More than anything, the song is born from a frustration of how the systems that help share our creativity with the world don't really care about our circumstances. Even if you're going through difficult times and have to prioritise, the machines of streaming and analytics and algorithms still expect you to churn out material no matter what. If you don't, they'll actively work against you, and it leads to a sense of feeling like you've failed if you don't keep up. But at the end of the day, we WILL persist through it. Even if these lines of code that we can't control try to hold it back, we'll make it through thanks to the support of people like you.
A major thanks to plasticrarity for returning to create some amazing cover art for this project, and to MrDemoVE for once again showcasing their talents at graphic design to make a really cool video to accompany it.
The next few projects after are going to be coming VERY soon, and I'm really working hard to ensure there are no more months-long gaps between new music. These include a long in-the-works collaboration with an awesome group of people that'll finally be here, the long awaited conclusion of rounding out the Vees with Velvette getting to have her say, and my first dip into the writing music for the world of Silent Hill.
Until then, I really hope you give a chance to listen and enjoy something really important to me with this track. I hope you all like it.
Hey everyone, I'm really sorry for being relatively radio silent for a while in regards to new music and content. A lot of things have happened over the last month, both personal and logistical, and it's drained a lot of the mental energy that I usually put towards finishing projects. What makes it doubly difficult is that I don't like the idea of putting out tracks for the sake of having something out within a time frame, but it's hard to deny the pressure to do when the algorithms that allow me to making a living through my music are constantly telling me to or risk floundering.
I promise that new stuff is coming as soon as I'm able to give it to you. The original works, new fan songs, and all of the previous hinted things I'm really excited to share with you. I just need a bit more time to get them to a level I'm satisfied with, be actually allowed to release them in some instances, and overcome this mental hurdle.
I really am thankful for your continued support and patience. I wish I could be as regular as I used to be with giving you new music and I really hope you all stick around and enjoy what I have when it's ready. It really means the world that you all allow me to do this, so thank you so much.
When I first started getting real traction for my work nearly 5 years ago, one of my earliest dips into fan music was re-creating pieces of existing music from scratch as accurately as possible and translating them into fully in-character cover songs. My aim was not only to make something I felt matched the characters with how we knew them at the time, but also to test my skills in producing numerous types of music I could then apply to original work later.
I've since graduated to original compositions and left covers behind because of how much I prefer doing the former, but people have continued to express a ton of interest in those older tracks being made available on my usual digital platforms. And while I'm waiting on numerous factors regarding newly written music from me, whether it be getting them finished or because of things out of my control which prevents me from releasing them right away, I didn't feel comfortable just leaving everyone without something in the interim.
So to celebrate coming up on 5 years since my first forays into fan music, I've decided to craft a project to fill these gaps dubbed "Covers With Character"! These selections of my older cover works have not just been chosen and uploaded as a quick job, they have been completely remastered and re-mixed from the original project files with cleaner mixes, updated sound libraries, and fixes to years-old mistakes! And to top it off, they feature brand new re-recorded vocals that match years worth of production progress and knowledge!
Volume 1 of what I hope to be a little series contains remastered versions of "Show & Tell" and "Valentino", both from early 2021, with a tentative release date onto digital platforms on April 25th. Keep in mind that releasing cover music requires obtaining proper licenses to do so, so there may be slight delays to this date but I'll keep you all informed of any changes. And a special shoutout to plasticrarity for providing such a fun idea for cover art and making it look so lovely after their stellar work on Dazzling Digital World!
If you all end up liking this, let me know which of my older works you might want to see re-mastered and re-released next and I'll do what I can for potential future volumes. Keep in mind that some of these project files are from multiple computers and drives ago and may need a lot of fixing in order to open successfully, if at all. Also, due to the rules surrounding cover releases that I have to follow, some tracks may not be eligible for release for various reasons.
While you enjoy, I can confirm that the brand new music coming your way includes more purely original electronica in a special "duality" theme, alongside original fanworks based in the worlds of Silent Hill, Bayonetta, Sonic, and of course the Hellaverse. Along with some exciting collaborations and appearances that I can't wait to have a chance to share.
Thank you all so much. Here's to 5 years and hopefully many more!
Hey again everyone, thank you for continuing to support me so far into the year!
While new music from me is waiting to be unleashed because of factors out of my control or because I'm still adding some finishing touches, I'm hoping to try and get something special sorted before the end of the month or as soon as possible to tide you over until then. It's something a lot of people have asked about for a while and will be a nice interim while brand new music is completed.
I'm putting in special effort for this little project and I hope you'll all enjoy it. Thanks for sticking with me 🤖
When moving forward, you have to appreciate where you've been.
I'm proud to announce my next original track that acts as both an 'update' for one of my favourite characters in the fully realised series, and a chance to let another shine on her own outside of a supporting presence in someone else's song.
'It Was Beautiful', with vocals by Cycoriot & The Mediocre Dutchman, beautiful art by Rayne, and fantastic visual editing by MrDemoVE, releases February 28th.
My original efforts as Lucifer many years ago, done with a cover of an already existing track, are far different to what he ended up being in a very similar way to my original interpretations of the Vees. And Charlie herself, going through a rather drastic journey of her own to see the truth of her dreams, needed the opportunity to have a prominent role musically in a way I hadn't done before. 'It Was Beautiful' was written as an "epilogue" to the conclusion of Season 1, with Charlie and Lucifer sharing a moment in the aftermath to relive a connection they used to have many years prior.
It was a pleasure to bring back Cycoriot to take on Charlie's role from their previous performance in Husk's song and an even greater honour to work with The Mediocre Dutchman who brings Lucifer to life with such uncanny accuracy that it's astounding. Add to that some truly incredibly visual artistry from Rayne that is made so dynamic and alive by MrDemoVE and this one ended up being really special to me.
