Happy National Schnauzer Day to my little badass, Rambo. 🐾❤️

Schnauzer people know… they’re not really dogs. They’re tiny bearded humans with opinions. 😂 That stare? They’re sizing you up, reading your soul, and somehow judging every life choice you’ve ever made.
They’re brilliant, loyal, watchful, stubborn, hilarious, dramatic little weirdos with enormous hearts.
And then there’s my Rambo.
By day, he’s Rambo, brave, alert, protective, always watching over his people. But with me? He turns into Romeo. ❤️ Sweet, sensitive, soulful, affectionate, and so deeply connected that sometimes I swear there’s a little human behind those eyes.

He doesn’t just look at me. He sees me.

Rambo by day. Romeo by night. My little badass. My little lover. My little soul. 🐾❤️

Twenty five years later, so much of that morning still lives inside the people who remember it. A sound, a telephone call, the fear on a stranger’s face, the desperate need to get home, and the unexpected tenderness of people reaching for one another in the middle of the unimaginable.

Today, we honor every life lost, every hero who ran toward danger, and every family and community forever changed. We remember not only what was taken from us, but also the compassion, courage, and humanity that helped people carry one another through the fear.

If you feel comfortable, I invite you to share a memory, feeling, sound, image, or act of kindness from that day that has stayed with you. You may also share a message of support for anyone who is remembering with a heavy heart.

There is no right way to remember, and you are welcome to simply read, reflect, or offer kindness to others. Let this be a gentle space where we can honor those we lost, listen to one another, and remember together.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸❤️

Our Big Sheriff 🤍🐾
2015–2026

Today, our hearts shattered as we said goodbye to one of the greatest members of our family—our sweet Roscoe.

I don’t even know how to describe the emptiness. The house feels quieter. The yard feels different. There is a space that can never truly be filled because it belonged to you.

Before you found us, you had already lived an incredible life. You were a proud father who brought many beautiful puppies into this world, leaving little pieces of yourself behind. Then, on August 6, 2020, you found your way to our front door. You looked around, chose this place as your home, and chose us as your family—your mom, your dad, and your pack. Looking back, I think God was guiding you to us all along.

Roscoe wasn’t just a Black Shepherd. He was magnificent. With his striking amber eyes, sleek black coat, and the spirit of a wild wolf, he was the biggest, strongest, most handsome dog around. Coyotes stayed away. Other dogs respected him. His bark echoed through the trees, and just knowing he was outside made us all feel safe.

But behind that powerful presence was the softest heart. You loved with everything you had. You watched over us without ever being asked. You protected us with quiet confidence, stood beside us through life’s ups and downs, and reminded us every single day what loyalty truly looks like.

You weren’t just our protector.

You were our Big Sheriff.

Today, we held you close, thanked you for a lifetime of unconditional love, and walked beside you on your final adventure. It was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done because loving you was one of the greatest gifts we’ve ever been given.

Roscoe, thank you for every adventure, every muddy paw print, every warning bark, every car ride, every laugh, every cuddle, and every moment you faithfully stood watch over this family. Thank you for making us feel safe. Thank you for choosing us.

You were never just a dog.

You were family.

You were home.

And I already know that every time I look toward those mountains, I’ll imagine seeing your silhouette standing proudly on the ridge—ears up, chest out, watching over your family like you’ve always done. That’s where I’ll find you now… in every sunrise, every quiet breeze through the trees, every trail we walk, and every memory that makes us smile through our tears.

Run wild through Heaven’s forests, sweet boy. Chase every butterfly. Splash through every stream. We know you’re young again, strong again, and surrounded by everyone who loved you before us.

You’ll always be our Big Sheriff.

Keep chasing the sunrise. Until we meet again… we love you more than words could ever say. Forever and always. 🖤🐾

🌑🦁 THE NEW MOON SOLAR ECLIPSE IN LEO

This isn’t just a New Moon. It’s a Solar Eclipse in Leo, and that’s a very different conversation. A New Moon asks, What do I want to create? An Eclipse asks, What truth can I no longer ignore? Sometimes clarity doesn’t arrive because more light appears. Sometimes it arrives because the light you’ve been relying on disappears. A relationship changes. A plan falls apart. An identity you’ve outgrown no longer fits. Suddenly you’re forced to see what’s been there all along.

Leo is the sign of courage, authenticity, creativity, confidence, visibility, and living from the heart. Leo says: I AM HERE. Not, Do you approve of me? Not, Should I make myself smaller? Not, Should I wait until I’m perfect? Just: I AM HERE.

So maybe this eclipse isn’t asking you what you want to manifest. Maybe it’s asking: Where am I abandoning myself? Where am I waiting to be chosen instead of choosing myself? What truth am I finally ready to admit?

Journal Prompt: If nobody could judge me, reject me, disappoint me, punish me, laugh at me, or leave me… what would I finally admit? Then ask yourself: What do I truly want? What am I afraid I’ll lose if I choose myself? What is one courageous step Future Me needs Present Me to begin?

Mini Eclipse Ritual: Light a candle. Place your hand over your heart. Take three slow breaths. Then say: “I do not need to see the entire road to choose my next honest step.” Write down one thing you are done abandoning yourself for. Then write one sentence beginning with: “I choose…” Maybe it’s peace. Visibility. Freedom. Creativity. Healthy love. Yourself. Read it out loud and say: “I choose a life in which I do not have to disappear to belong.”

Sometimes losing everything you were afraid to lose is how you finally find the life you were afraid to choose.

Thank you for getting cozy with Rozie. ❤️ Like, comment, and subscribe. Tell me below: What is one thing you’re ready to stop abandoning about yourself, and what is one courageous step you’re ready to take next? 🦁🔥🌑

My Sweet Zoey 🤍
April 10, 2010 – July 6, 2023
Her sunset: around 10:10 PM

Tomorrow marks three years since my sweet little Zoey left this world, and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t miss her.

I really believed we were supposed to have more time together. Sometimes it still feels like her life was robbed from us, and I still catch myself wishing for just one more day, one more cuddle, one more little bark, one more look from those big, beautiful brown eyes.

Zoey wasn’t “just a dog.” She was my little love. She was my family. She was my first baby. She was the one who made me understand motherhood.

A Because of my illness, I always felt like so much had been taken from me. I wondered if I’d ever know what it felt like to raise something that depended on me, loved me, waited for me, looked at me like I was their whole world.

Then God gave me Zoey.

She filled a place in my heart I didn’t even know was waiting for her.

She gave me my own little tribe.

She gave me someone to protect, to nurture, to celebrate, to laugh with, to worry about, and to love with absolutely everything I had.

She made me into a mom.

She even made me feel more feminine.

I’ve always been a tomboy, but Zoey was such a little princess that somehow I started becoming one too. Walking beside something so beautiful made me feel beautiful. Caring for something so precious softened parts of me I didn’t even know existed.

She was tiny… oh my goodness, she was so perfect and so incredibly tiny.

A fuzzy little bunny who looked like she had wandered out of an animated movie.

She was all hair and didn’t care.

She looked like Farrah Fawcett trapped inside the tiniest little Pomeranian body imaginable.

People would stop everywhere we went just to look at her.

She wasn’t just beautiful.

She knew she was beautiful.

She carried herself like she was wearing a crown.

She felt like the most perfect pair of diamond earrings. The kind you’re excited to wear because you know everyone is going to notice how beautiful they are.

That was Zoey.

I loved showing her off because she made everything prettier simply by existing.

She didn’t need much.

She didn’t need endless training.

She didn’t need a leash most of the time because she never wanted to be far away.

She listened when you called her.

She always chose us.

She just wanted to be close.

She had this incredible independence balanced with complete loyalty.

She had discernment.

Resilience.

Confidence.

She had attitude.

Oh… she had attitude.

That little side-eye she would give you when she was annoyed could make us laugh every single time.

She would throw every pillow off the couch just because she could.

You’d spend twenty minutes making the bed perfectly…

…and she’d jump right up and mess the whole thing back up with the biggest sense of accomplishment, like she knew she had won.

She teased me constantly.

She’d get her zoomies, race toward me, then at the very last second duck underneath me or stand above me with that giant lion’s mane hanging over my face, looking down at me with that mischievous little grin.

She wasn’t trying to be naughty. She was trying to make me laugh. She knew exactly how to cheer me up. She played with her entire body. Her whole soul.

The first time she ever saw snow, she didn’t cautiously step into it. She exploded into it.

She bounced like a bunny…

…and launched herself out of it like a little rocket.

In those moments, you could almost see her wolf spirit come alive. She wasn’t afraid of life. My baby gained her “ wolf spirit “

She met life with joy.

Even now, I swear I can still remember exactly how she smelled. Oh she’s delicious ❤️💋

This is going to sound crazy…

…but she smelled like a bakery.

Like maple syrup. Fresh waffles. Vanilla chai.

Something warm. Something sweet. Something comforting. Somehow home had a scent…

…and it smelled like Zoey. Gosh…she’s perfect! She’s sexy and perfect!

Toward the end, her little heart had to carry so much. She lived with syncope.

Her heart simply became too tired.

But what amazes me is that even then, she never stopped trying. She never stopped loving.

She never stopped choosing us.

The night she left us, around 10:10 PM on July 6, 2023, I truly believe she waited until she knew her mom and dad weren’t giving up on her.

She knew we would have done absolutely anything to keep her here.

Anything.

She knew her life mattered. She knew she was deeply wanted.

She knew she was worth fighting for.

And somehow…

I think that gave her permission to finally rest. I still need her, need to feel her. I pray to get a sign from her.

I hope sometimes when I catch the smell of vanilla or maple syrup…

or I see fresh snow… or I hear her tiny paws prancing in my memory…

that maybe she’s reminding me she never really left. I don’t think they ever really do.

I think she knows I need her now more than ever, and I believe she stays close by… always by my side.

Even Rambo, her soul brother, feels like a gift she called upon before she left this earth plane. It’s almost as if she whispered to Heaven, “My mom is going to need another little soul to help carry her through this.”

And somehow… he came looking for me through the storm, just to become my calm.

I think she knew. I really do.

She knew what losing her would do to me. She knew my heart would break in ways I couldn’t yet imagine. And somehow, I believe she also knew I would need another heartbeat walking beside mine… another set of paws to help carry me through the unbearable pain of losing my daughter, my little princess on four legs, with all that fluffy hair, that smiling face, and the warmest embrace I’ve ever known.Because love like hers doesn’t disappear.

It simply changes form. BUT there is not a day that goes by without feeling her absence and missing her. I always talk to her and ask her if she would let me know she is here, to guide, to be my spiritual fluffy baby on this journey of life.

Zoey Baby… Thank you, my sweet little bunny. Thank you for every cuddles, the kisses, the paw shakes and pettings, Understanding when mom wasn’t well, and you had to be with other family who loved you so dearly, the little ballerina twirls you would do whenever you got excited, the times you would comfort me when I was feeling really sick really sad or really bad. You were always the best support system I’ve ever had.

Thank you for letting me see your joy, your smile, you’re happy and Every zoomie.

Every bark. Every pillow you threw across the room, and purposely knocked off the couch.

Every side-eye. Every laugh. Every ounce of love.

You didn’t just change my life.

You changed me. COMPLETELY

You made me a woman. I know that’s not crazy, but you really did by Zoe. You really really gave me that woman, feminine goddess Energy, the softness, and the honor of being yours. What an honor… Thank you for being mine.

You made me a mom. You made our home brighter. Life Better.

You made ordinary days magical.

And after all these years…

I still love you just as fiercely as the first day I held you.

Happy Heavenly Anniversary, my beautiful girl. 3 years and so many tears.

I will see your spirit walking alongside me. I will feel you in the wind, in the snow, at your favorite lake, and in all the little places that still feel like home. I know you’ll keep finding beautiful ways to remind me you’re still near.
I don’t believe love like yours simply disappears. I believe it changes form.
I will always love you, ZoZo. Always. Until we find each other again. 🤍

Today is the third day of the Summer Solstice, and I don’t know why, but I feel like I needed this rainbow more than I even realized.

It wasn’t just beautiful.

It was complete.

I honestly don’t remember the last time I saw a rainbow stretch from one side of the sky to the other. Usually you see part of one. A streak of color. Half of an arc. Beautiful… but incomplete. This one was different. It connected one end of the sky to the other, and maybe that’s why it stopped me in my tracks.

I’ve been walking through one of the hardest seasons of my life. I just turned 50 on June 19. I’m navigating illness, menopause, change, healing, grief, hope, and trying my best to believe that there is still something beautiful waiting for me on the other side of all of this.

Everyone keeps saying, “Happy 50th! Older, wiser, hotter!” and I smile because I’m grateful. I truly am. But if I’m being honest, I also feel like I’m floating somewhere in between. I’m standing between who I was and who I’m becoming. Between what I thought my life would look like and what it actually became. Between letting go and learning to receive.

Are hormones part of it? Absolutely.
Is my upbringing part of it? Of course.

Years of criticism quietly became programming. Somewhere along the way I began believing things about myself that were never actually mine to carry. My confidence, my body, my strength, my independence, my endless energy… life has humbled every single one of them. Sometimes that’s heartbreaking. Sometimes it’s holy.

Then I saw this rainbow. Not on a perfect sunny day. On a rainy one. Cold. Gray. The kind of day that almost convinces you nothing extraordinary is about to happen.

Maybe that’s the point.

A rainbow doesn’t wait for the storm to disappear. It happens because light chooses to meet it.

Maybe that’s what we’re being asked to do too.

We spend so much of our lives living in fear. Fear of loss. Fear of failure. Fear of change. Fear of not being enough. We grip so tightly to people, dreams, identities, and plans because we’re afraid that letting go means losing.

But time keeps moving anyway. The sun still rises. The seasons still change.

Life keeps inviting us forward whether we’re ready or not. Maybe the lesson isn’t learning how to control life. Maybe it’s learning how to flow with it.

With faith instead of fear. With discernment instead of desperation. With surrender instead of resistance.

Sometimes we spend years chasing a dream we’ve quietly outgrown. We poured so much of ourselves into it that we can’t imagine walking away. We mistake exhaustion for failure when maybe it’s simply God gently saying, “You don’t have to keep carrying what no longer belongs to you.”

I used to think the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was something I had to earn.

HEALTH. Healing. More money. A career. A relationship. A home. A new beginning.

Now I’m starting to wonder if the treasure isn’t something we find.

Maybe it’s someone we become.

Maybe the rainbow isn’t asking us to race toward the end.

Maybe it’s asking us to notice every color along the way.

There are seasons where you can’t manifest because you’re simply trying to survive. There are days when you can’t even see the whole spectrum. You’re just following one color at a time, trusting that somehow it all connects, even when your life feels disconnected.

That’s exactly how I felt looking at this rainbow.

It reminded me that even when I can’t see the whole picture, God can.

It reminded me that there is still a whole life waiting for me.

A life filled with love, laughter, tears, celebrations, missed opportunities, unexpected miracles, amazing friendships, painful goodbyes, restaurants I’ve never discovered, places I’ve never explored, dreams I haven’t even imagined yet.

Life isn’t over. It’s still unfolding, And maybe that’s true for you too.

I also realized something else.

We spend most of our lives adapting ourselves to fit into the world around us. We absorb our parents’ beliefs, our friends’ opinions, society’s expectations, conversations, fears, and limitations until one day we don’t even know which thoughts are truly ours anymore.

Somewhere over the rainbow isn’t another version of someone else.

It’s the journey back to yourself.

Ask yourself…

What do I actually believe?

What truly brings me joy?

What feelings are genuinely mine?

What opinions did I inherit?

What dreams still belong to me, and which ones am I carrying because I thought I was supposed to?

If someone else’s belief serves you, wonderful. Borrow it.

But if it doesn’t, lovingly hand it back.

Find your own colors. Find your own voice. Find your own rainbow.

Because the world doesn’t need another copy of someone else’s life.

It needs the miracle of yours.

So wherever this Summer Solstice finds you… whether you’re celebrating, grieving, rebuilding, beginning again, or simply trying to make it through today… I hope you remember this.

Be the rainbow. Be the unicorn. Be the miracle.

You don’t have to become someone extraordinary.

You simply have to become unapologetically, beautifully, authentically you.

Wishing you a Summer Solstice filled with hope, healing, courage, and the faith to keep following the colors within you, because I have a feeling that somewhere over your rainbow isn’t just a pot of gold…

It’s the truest version of who you’ve always been. 🌈✨
