I’m delighted to share that I have successfully completed my internship at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with the ICT Department. It was an incredibly enriching experience that allowed me to understand the intersection of technology, policy, and industry collaboration in India’s rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.

During my internship, my primary responsibility was working on a comprehensive Whitepaper on Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India. Through this project, I explored how India has emerged as a global hub for innovation, technology services, and strategic operations. My research examined the growth of GCCs across the country, where India currently hosts 1,800+ GCCs, employing over 1.9 million professionals and generating nearly $65B in annual revenue. The study also highlighted projections suggesting the ecosystem could expand to 2,400+ GCCs and surpass $100B in value by 2030.

As part of the research, I analysed industry insights and reports from organizations such as EY, Zinnov, SIAH, and other leading institutions, focusing on emerging trends such as the expansion of GCCs into Tier-2 cities, the growing role of AI, data analytics, and digital transformation, and India’s long-term technology and innovation potential.

Beyond the whitepaper, I had the opportunity to contribute to several initiatives within the department. I worked on developing a proposal for hosting a GCC Conference in Tier-2 cities, conducted industry and policy research, assisted with event coordination and reconfirmation calls, and helped build a structured sponsor database for outreach and partnerships. I also had the chance to attend insightful events such as Bhashantra and FICCI LEADS, which provided valuable exposure to conversations around AI, multilingual internet, digital governance, and India’s future technology landscape.

This internship helped me significantly strengthen my research, analytical thinking, and policy understanding, while also giving me deeper insight into how organizations like FICCI bring together government, industry leaders, and policymakers to shape conversations around India’s digital economy.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Sarika Gulyani Ma’am for giving me this incredible opportunity. Her guidance, encouragement, and truly motherly support made this journey even more meaningful. I am also sincerely thankful to Mr. Vidit Rai, Mr. Sushir Malik, and Mr. Lav Kumar Pandey for their mentorship and constant support throughout the internship.

Grateful to have been a part of the ICT team at FICCI, and excited to carry forward these learnings and experiences as I continue my journey in technology, policy research, and industry engagement.
