In this video, I compare two very different Seiko 5 Sports models: the SRPH21 from the Field series and the SRPK31 from the SKX series. Both use Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement with manual winding, day-date display, hacking seconds, 24 jewels, and around 41 hours of power reserve.

The Seiko SRPH21 features a 39.4 mm stainless steel case, 13.2 mm thickness, 48.1 mm lug-to-lug, 20 mm lug width, curved Hardlex crystal, LumiBrite on hands and indexes, 10 bar water resistance, 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance, and a see-through case back. It belongs to the Field series and offers a more vintage / military-inspired style.

The Seiko SRPK31 features a more compact 38.0 mm stainless steel case, 12.1 mm thickness, 44.2 mm lug-to-lug, 20 mm lug width, Hardlex crystal, LumiBrite on hands and indexes, 10 bar water resistance, 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance, a unidirectional rotating bezel, three-fold clasp with push-button release, and a see-through screw case back. It is part of the SKX series and has a more dive-style sport look.
