In 2021 our small channel got over 500k views and more than doubled in size. With it, over three years of watch time, 3,000 likes, and a thousand comments! Hoping everyone has a great new year and the channel continues to grow as we make more content for you all. Have a happy new year everyone!
A little behind the scenes that most YouTubers don't share that's kind of interesting. Our videos have really really strong viewership from ~30 seconds in. Most channel's videos have the big drop at the beginning and a slow bleed over time, but for us, if people made it 30 seconds in ~90% of them we're still watching 4 minutes later, so the people that watch our videos really like watching them. Recently I've been doing a lot of research on 'How to Build an at-home Nuclear Bomb' and 'How to Get Away with Murder' for video ideas and I'm convinced between these two topics I've been added to a dozen government lists...
Just an interesting experience that's currently happening. Two days ago Elon Musk tweeted out that he was offering $100 million for the best carbon capture technology. A video we posted on the topic over a year ago normally gets ~60 views a day, but now is getting 2k+ a day. Just interesting to see both the positive effects 'celebrities' can generate and also how things on YouTube for small channels can change literally overnight
