Fitness, mindset, and real talk for men over 60 who aren’t ready to slow down.

I’m Mike Mahony. At 60 I was dealing with joint pain, bad sleep, weight I couldn’t shake, and energy that disappeared by noon. I decided I wasn’t going out like that — and this channel is what happened next.

Every week I share what’s actually working: strength and mobility routines, brain health habits, honest supplement and gadget reviews, nutrition that doesn’t require a PhD, and straight talk about finding purpose when the career is behind you.

No fluff. No generic advice. Just a real guy in his 60s figuring it out — and bringing you along.

Strings of Life

Three weeks. Zero pounds lost.

I almost convinced myself tirzepatide had stopped working.

If you’re over 60 and you’ve hit a weight-loss plateau on tirzepatide, Mounjaro, Zepbound, semaglutide, or even just regular diet-and-exercise weight loss, you know how quickly the doubts start:

“Is the medication not working anymore?”
“Am I doing something wrong?”
“Is this as far as I’m going to get?”

Here’s what I learned: the scale is not always tracking the number that matters.
During my stall, I actually went up 2 pounds on the scale—but my body-fat percentage went down 1.5%. That changed how I looked at the whole thing.

The one change that helped me stop stressing was simple: I started tracking inches around my midsection and chest, not just pounds. The scale may be stuck because of water retention, sodium, hydration, exercise, or changes in body composition. But if your waist is shrinking and your clothes fit differently, you may still be making real progress.

In the new video, I share:

• The three reasons a scale stall can happen after 60
• Why protecting muscle matters while losing weight
• Why water weight can hide fat loss
• The measurement I now track every week
• How I break up walking into realistic chunks during the day
• When it may be time to speak with your doctor about a longer stall

If you’re in a plateau right now, don’t let one number convince you to quit.

Have you hit a stall on tirzepatide or during weight loss after 60? What are you tracking besides the scale?

Strings of Life

For men over 55 on tirzepatide who are wondering, “Okay, but what do you actually eat in a normal day?”—my new video is for you.

No perfect meal plan. No diet food. No highlight reel.

I’m sharing a real Tuesday of eating at 61: breakfast, snacks, lunch, dinner, portion sizes, protein, hydration, and the simple habits that have helped me lose 30 pounds without feeling like I’m constantly on a diet.

You’ll see what I really reach for:

• Eggs, oatmeal, and protein at breakfast
• Greek yogurt with frozen blueberries
• Lean protein, vegetables, and simple salads
• Smaller pasta portions instead of cutting out foods I enjoy
• Healthy snacks that help me avoid the old candy-and-junk-food routine
• Why meal prep matters more than motivation when hunger hits

Tirzepatide has helped quiet the food noise for me, but it is not the whole plan. I’m using this time to build eating habits I can realistically live with for the long haul.

If you’re on tirzepatide, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or working on sustainable weight loss after 55 or 60, I hope this gives you a few practical ideas.

The Corporate Wage Squeeze: Why It’s Time to Leave the W2 Behind

Gentlemen, the latest numbers are in, and they confirm exactly what many of us have been sensing in the boardroom. The newly compiled July 2026 AARP Employment Data Digest just dropped a brutal reality check for the mature workforce.

The hard truth? Corporate wage growth for our cohort is actively lagging. Companies are systematically pushing seasoned professionals into part-time, sidelined structures while overall workforce participation for older Americans remains stable.

They absolutely love our 25-plus years of institutional context. They rely on our steady hands to navigate market volatility and operational chaos. Whether you have spent your career as a CIO, a VP of Engineering, or driving general operations across the corporate C-suite, the corporate machine wants your wisdom—but it wants to buy it at a steep discount. They are actively using your stability to subsidize the training of their younger tiers.

Right now, loyalty to a traditional corporate structure past 55 is nothing more than a wealth-eroding compliance trap.

The Leverage Flip

But here is where the data gets incredibly exciting for guys our age. Macro labor reviews are highlighting a massive corporate failure: the "Guidance Infrastructure Gap." Organizations are drowning in continuous metrics and automated data streams, yet they are starved for veteran strategic thinkers who can translate that chaotic information into real-world execution.

Raw software cannot replace deep contextual wisdom.

This is where you step in.

The Solopreneur Playbook

The smartest men over 55 are already making the pivot. They are leaving the W2 behind and packaging their expertise into high-margin fractional advisory frameworks. Here is why this is the ultimate defensive move for your next chapter:

* Uncapped Earning Power: Moving to an independent consulting model forces the market to pay for your wisdom at its true asset value, removing the arbitrary ceiling of a corporate salary.
* Total Sovereign Control: You dictate the engagement. By structuring your own Ownership Boundaries and Decision Domains, you operate entirely on your own terms, not a board's schedule.
* Eliminating the Noise: You are no longer bogged down in middle-management politics. You can set strict Intake Gates and Escalation Triggers for your clients, delivering high-level strategic direction exactly where they are currently paralyzed by data dumps.

True security isn’t found in a fixed paycheck or relying on a government safety net. True security demands that you take complete sovereign control of your expertise.

It is time to stop subsidizing the corporate machine. Package your operational intelligence, build your own framework, and command the premium you have spent a quarter of a century earning.

The Act 3 Briefing: The "Low-Fire" Shield, Broken Promises, and the 70% Lifespan Blueprint

The conventional narrative says that as you cross 55, you become expendable to Corporate America and a passenger to your own biological decline.

The data dropping late this June tells a completely different story.

If you know how to read the macro trends and apply the latest biological interventions, your late 50s and 60s aren't a wind-down—they are a high-leverage launchpad. Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Act 3 Briefing, a weekly breakdown of the data, the science, and the hard truths required to own your future.

Macro & Leverage: The "Low-Fire" Shield

A major late-June macroeconomic brief from the St. Louis Fed completely destroys the myth that mature professionals are the first on the chopping block in a tightening economy.

The U.S. labor market has shifted into a strict "low-hire, low-fire" dynamic. While younger, entry-level workers are facing severe employment friction and frozen hiring pipelines, mature professionals over 55 are heavily insulated. Employment-to-population ratios for this bracket remain rock solid.

Why the Shift?

Companies are refusing to shed experienced talent. In a volatile economic cycle, Corporate America cannot afford the operational risk of training unproven youth. They are actively clinging to your institutional memory and execution capabilities.

The Opportunity: You have immense leverage. This isn't the time to hide in a cubicle hoping you aren't noticed. It is the exact window to negotiate your exit from the corporate grind and transition into a high-margin, fractional consulting role on your own terms.

The Reality Check: The 2032 Math Problem

While your corporate leverage is up, your reliance on legacy safety nets must drop to zero. The Social Security Board of Trustees just dropped their updated report, and the timeline has accelerated.

Driven by lower fertility rates and shifting immigration policies, the trust fund depletion date has been aggressively moved up to 2032. Without immediate legislative restructuring, this triggers an automatic, across-the-board 24% benefit cut in just six years.

To put a number on that, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) mapped this real-world impact:

Average Monthly Cut: Slashing over $500/month from baseline benefits.

Geographic Severity: Extends past this mark in 29 states.

Economic Drag: Wipes out more than 1% of total GDP in older population hubs.

The Hard Truth

The government is openly warning you that the traditional retirement calculator is broken. Waiting for a political savior to fix a bankrupt spreadsheet is a surrender of your sovereignty. A sudden $500 monthly haircut is a defensive crisis for anyone relying on fixed, passive income. Engineering an independent, cash-generating engine in your late 50s and 60s is no longer a luxury lifestyle project—it is a mandatory defensive maneuver.

Health & Longevity: The 70% Extension

If you are going to build a high-velocity second act, your biological hardware has to match your strategic ambition. Fortunately, biological aging is officially becoming a solvable engineering problem.

In a landmark, peer-reviewed study published mid-June, longevity biotech firm Immorta Bio demonstrated a 70% lifespan extension in aging models.

By combining senolytic clearance (flushing out toxic, inflammation-inducing "zombie" cells) with targeted regenerative stem cell therapies, this "reset and repair" protocol didn't just delay degradation—it actively reversed organ decline and liver injury.

Simultaneously, human data published by Circulate Health highlighted the success of therapeutic plasma exchange to filter microplastics and environmental toxins directly from the bloodstream. The longevity market is shifting rapidly from passive supplementation to active, clinical blood filtration designed to eliminate cellular drag and cognitive brain fog.

The Fretboard and the AI Coach: A Reflection on Focus

Picture this internal experience: You’ve just finished a demanding, 90-minute weekday morning session on the acoustic guitar. Your fingers are working through intricate major scale patterns, and your brain is pushing back against the cognitive resistance. It’s the same mental friction you feel when tracking metrics, editing video timelines, or structuring high-level advisory content.

The world expects a man over 55 to retreat into passive, comfortable hobbies and accept gradual decline.

But forcing your mind through the simultaneous sensory loads of complex music theory and digital creation isn't a leisure pastime—it is a tactical intervention. It forces your neural hardware to repair and adapt.

The elite science moving fast in late June is here to protect your physical chassis. Platforms like WHOOP are shifting from passive trackers to active AI clinical engines, handling the cognitive burden of biomarker tracking and health management for you. By offloading that data management to AI, you preserve the precise mental focus required to remain sharp, creative, and dangerous enough to anchor massive new professional movements.

The tools are standard. The science is real. The leverage is yours. See you next week.
