EVER WONDER WHERE THE TERM PACKRAT COMES FROM???

Packrats (or woodrats) in Arizona construct large, messy, and highly fortified mounds known as middens or nests to protect themselves from predators and extreme desert temperatures. Using cactisus, sticks, rocks, and scavenged debris (Like Pieces of Garden Hose) they create well constructed ,sometimes 2-meter-high structures that often feature tunnels, chambers, and food caches. #packrats #arizona #desert #wildlife
