Hi folks, I’ve been in The Howgills for a few days on a family break this week. I managed some filming on a solo hike one day, in some pretty rough & interchangeable weather! Rain, ice showers, sunshine & up to 50 mph winds, which made filming & my footage difficult. I was completely unable to fly the drone on Calders & The Calf ( the 2 highest Howgills) due to the wind speeds. Hopefully I can put a video together for you, for release in a few days, as I would love to share this beautiful area, it will depend on footage. Lots of people drive past the Howgills on route to The Lakes, & never visit. BIG MISTAKE! It’s a wonderful area 🧡
Just a quickie: If you just watching my latest video (realised this morning) & it’s gone off or disappeared that’s because I’ve had to re do the upload! Not sure what happened. The video should be back up in an hour or so. Sorry
I’m just finishing editing a wildcamp video from last week at Kinder Downfall in the Peak District, which will be out on Thursday. I nearly didn’t film this one as weather conditions were poor & light conditions even worse, but I chose to film last minute. While I’ve been editing, virtually all ‘the morning after’ footage has been cut. This is because I’m really not happy with the quality of it & I really don’t like the idea of uploading that section, so I won’t. So I apologise if the second day is short on the video.
Thank you for all your support folks to the channel & lovely comments I’ve received on recent videos. It is very much appreciated.
I’m away in The Lakes again this wkd. There will be a New video out on Sat evening/Sunday morning when I’m back to upload, of a great solo camp up in lakes on Bowfell/Upper Eskdale earlier this week. This included Whorneyside waterfall, Hell Gill, Bowfell’s Climbers Traverse, The Great Slab, Esk Pike & Crinkle Crags. Thank you for your support, it’s massively appreciated Take care.
I had planned to get back up to the Lakes yesterday for a long over due trip, but as the weather predicted up there was looking pretty awful for drone photography, I ventured out close to home on Kinder. Video out this week. Thank you for your support with the channel folks, very much appreciated.
Hi I’m up on a family break near the Howgills this week. I was hoping to film a section of them on a day walk but the weather isn’t playing ball ☹️ We will see if it improves, if not I will have to come back!
There aren’t many videos on YouTube of these fells that Wainwright was so fond of. I believe he referred to them as ‘sleeping elephants’; if I can get some airborne shots you will see why 🤞
Hi everyone, I am back in the lakes this week with plans of getting drone footage, as that’s what this channel is about. Unfortunately I’ve been a bit scuppered with the weather & storm Ciaran ☹️ Hopefully I can grab something this week to make a new video 🙏 Many thanks to you all for following.
