Alma Del Core;
"Faithfulness in love defeats treachery."

A haven for the curious, the seeking, and the devoted.

From Betrayal to Blessing: A Journey of Faith and Devotion.

In the dawn of Christianity, there was no label to claim, only followers of Jesus, united as one. The term "Catholic" embraced all, meaning "universal" and "all-encompassing". The original church of Jesus, founded by Peter, stood as a beacon of unity. Within its sacred traditions, seven sacraments shone bright.

The term "Catholic" whispers secrets of a timeless and universal love, embracing all who seek solace in its ancient embrace. This mystical word, born from the Greek "katholikos," carries the essence of unity and inclusivity, transcending borders and boundaries.

The Catholic faith is a masterful symphony of love, played on the strings of the human heart.

"Our Lady of the Hens reveals Mary not in grandeur, but in nearness, in the small, faithful rhythms of daily care. She is the Mother who gathers, shelters, and sustains, attentive to the ordinary needs that so often go unseen. Like the hen who draws her brood close beneath her wings, Mary shows us that protection is an act of love, and that holiness is often practised quietly, far from the world’s notice.

This season invites us into that same gentleness. As the year slows and gratitude rises, Our Lady of the Hens reminds us that provision is not only found in abundance, but also in attentiveness, in tending to what has been entrusted to us, in sharing what we have, and in offering warmth where there is vulnerability. She sanctifies the humble spaces of life: the kitchen table, the hearth, the place where nourishment is prepared and given freely.

In these quieter months, her presence feels especially close. She teaches us that thankfulness grows when we notice the small mercies, that generosity does not require excess, only willingness. Under her gaze, even the simplest acts, feeding, caring, protecting, become reflections of God’s sustaining love. She invites us to rest in the knowledge that nothing offered in love is insignificant.

This devotion, known as Our Lady of the Hens (Madonna delle Galline), is rooted in a recognized Marian apparition in Pagani, Italy, where the faithful encountered the Blessed Mother’s protection and intercession in the early seventeenth century. Honoured by the Church and celebrated each year on the Second Sunday of Easter, her shrine remains a place of pilgrimage and gratitude. Even now, in this season of quiet giving and thankfulness, Our Lady of the Hens reminds us that Mary’s care extends into the smallest details of our lives, gathering us gently beneath her watchful, maternal love."
