Here are a couple of success stories that I found in my inbox

I decided to take a break so I missed some messages!

On a daily basis I get messages from people who followed advice in my videos and managed to land a cybersecurity job - it takes a lot of work, patience, and consistency.

(yes the plans apply to your situation....follow the roadmaps without modifying them)

Follow the roadmaps on my videos and there is no reason why you can't reach your goal :)

I looked at a least 20 Cyber Security Resumes in the last couple of months and I heard the same complaint from candidates:

- "I applied to xxx jobs and I didn't get a single interview, can you please review my resume?"

Those resumes were all well-formatted, didn't have any mistakes. In fact, they all looked professionally written.

But

Without a single exception, all the resumes that I looked at had one thing in common:

- One or two at best entry level certs. That's it.

So the candidate will have something like Google cyber cert, or CompTIA sec+/Net+

some candidates even had more entry level certs like ccna or A+.

THIS WAS the problem.

Doing one or two entry level certs is barely scratching the surface. They're meant to be an introduction to the field - not the entire field.

Imagine trying to learn a foreign language, and expect to be proficient after ONE class. It doesn't work that way.

Sure some people manage to land a job with the bare minimum but this is not a strategy. Pace yourself, and tackle practical hands-on intermediate level training

yes it will take time, effort, consistency, and patience.

I don't have shortcuts.

It used to be a lot harder because a few years ago we didn't have access to affordable practical training, and the only option was a $10K SANS training, but now things are a lot more accessible

However, accessible doesn't mean easy. It'll take time and hard work

Good luck!

I’m slowly writing a long email message with updates on some of the cool things I’m working on for 2026 and some reflections on how 2025 went

Join my free email newsletter, you’ll get the update next week (I hope)

Didn't want the year to end without a little surprise for GRC Mastery students!

We added a new module to the training:

Module 11: Cyber Risk Quantification

This is a fantastic new module that tackles the topic of Cyber Risk Quantification using the FAIR Institute model.

As always, the module includes a guide project, where we apply the FAIR model to a real world problem

You'll also get a worksheet, populated with the FAIR model formulas that we use in cyber risk quantification that you can use right away in your job!

All at no additional cost 😉

We're working on more exciting stuff in the next few months, stay tuned!

Check out GRC Mastery: grcmastery.com/ (PS: I need to update the web page to inlcude the new module + our new Exemplar Global recognition)

This has been months in work!!

GRC Mastery now officially recognised as a Training Provider under the Exemplar Global Training Provider and Examiner Certification scheme.

What does this mean?
- More global recognition for our brand and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor.

- Our ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor course is also accepted by the ASD for IRAP assessor purposes.

- This is our commitment to our students, current and future, and a continuation of my personal mission to deliver the best cyber security GRC training possible.

- all this at no additional cost :)

Note: ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor certification
Current and future students: we’ll send communications in the training platform (at the end of the module) and via email, likely next month after the holidays :)

So I interviewed for a Senior cyber security consultant job at Amazon AWS. Here's my full experience with the interview (including all the questions that they asked me)... and also why I decided the job was not for me:
