Based on a query in the comments of this video.
First, light won't "bend on its own" without interference, but it is fundamentally affected by gravity. The most massive objects actually curve the spacetime that light travels through, making its path appear bent even though it's taking the shortest route (a phenomenon called gravitational lensing).
Second, if light were conscious, its behavior would be pure sci-fi: it could "choose" to bypass obstacles, travel the scenic route around stars, or simply linger where it felt like it, becoming the universe's ultimate, high-speed tourist!
Finally, if light were a liquid, it might pour like an iridescent river that avoids shadows, but if it were a solid, the sheer speed and energy contained would make it an impenetrable, crystal-clear barrier. The hardest substance imaginable!
