Jonathan Schmitz
I was born in San Diego but I lived most of my life in Spokane Washington. So basically, I’ve spent my whole life trying to get back to San Diego. When I was young my family lived in the mountains in a little house with no running water or electricity. I grew up in a Christian home and went and church pretty much every Sunday but it wasn’t until high school that my faith really became my own. When I was 14 years old my dad died of cancer and a couple of years later my best friends brother was killed in a car accident. After those events I realized I couldn’t just settle for Sunday School answers and my parents faith. I started to look for the answers to the deep questions of my heart. As I began to discover the truth of God who loved me and cared for me even in the hard times, I started to feel a call to live for eternity because life had taught me that our time here is short .
