I’m experimenting with DIY graphite watercolors by mixing graphite powder into watercolor tube paints, and I love the soft, moody, granulating results. I tried a really fun mixed media technique by spraying water through a stencil, then dropping India ink and gold acrylic ink into the wet surface and letting it move on its own. After it dried, I added graphite mark-making to finish the page. Such an easy, playful way to create abstract texture in an art journal.
