This month’s art haul turned into a little creative surprise 🎨

I opened up my new supplies, played with some unexpected textures, and ended up making a mini abstract using what was right in front of me. Pastels, stencils, watercolor paper, and zero pressure to make anything “perfect.” Just showing up, experimenting, and letting curiosity lead the way.

If you love seeing new art supplies in action instead of sitting pretty on a shelf, this one was such a joy to film 💛

I sat down with my paints and no plan other than to play 💙

These granulating watercolors do so much of the work for you. Shadow Turquoise and Shadow Green create this soft, textured magic all on their own when you let them flow. I started with simple oval shapes, then followed my intuition with mark-making and layers until the piece felt alive.

This kind of painting reminds me that art doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. A few shapes, a limited palette, and permission to experiment can turn into something completely unexpected.

If you’re feeling stuck or tight with your work, try this. Pick two colors, repeat one shape, and see where it takes you.

📓 Bold Color Mixing in My Art Journal

You know I love a good color play session — and this one had me swooning. I cracked open my Dina Wakley Ledger Journal, grabbed my Blick Matte Acrylics (Pink Deep + Yellow Oxide = magic), and let intuition lead the way.

One side of the spread became a color study playground... the other? An abstract burst of layered brushstrokes, scribbles, and stencil love. Black and white added just the right contrast to make everything pop.

If you’re feeling a little creatively stuck, this kind of low-pressure, high-fun journaling is so worth a try. Don’t overthink — just start mixing and mark-making and see where it takes you.

Ever start a page with dreamy blues and greens… and then totally freeze up? 😩 That was me with this one.

I began with Masha’s beautiful watercolors, fully expecting an easy, flowing session — but nope. Every layer pushed back. I played with stencils, made awkward marks, and second-guessed everything. But I kept going.

Sometimes, the magic is the messy middle. 💙💚

If you’ve ever felt stuck in your art (or your life), I hope this one reminds you: it’s okay to wrestle with it. The “ugh” might just lead to something unexpectedly beautiful.

From tiny studies to something bold and beautiful ✨

In this new piece, I expanded on the grid art I started last week and went bigger. This was one of those intuitive sessions where everything just clicked — layers of watercolor, creamy pastels, acrylic marks, and little flickers of gold coming together in the best kind of creative flow.

It started with small squares, simple marks… and now it’s turned into a full-blown abstract playground of texture and color. I love seeing how these little studies can grow into something much more expressive.

If you’re into juicy color palettes, expressive mark-making, and watching a piece unfold layer by layer — you’re going to love this one 💛

Minimal supplies, big magic. ✨ In my latest tutorial, I’m diving into one of my favorite ways to play: wonky watercolor circles! All you need is one deliciously granulating handmade watercolor (I'm using one of Masha’s) and your favorite mixed media tools.

Watch how the color separates into dreamy layers while we build texture with graphite, bold marks with Posca, and top it off with shimmering gold. Loose, intuitive, and totally addictive.

If you love art that lets you follow your curiosity and make something beautiful without overthinking, this one’s for you 💛

Watch Me Create 12 Floral Grid Art Pieces with Mixed Media

Feeling creatively stuck? This 12-piece floral grid is one of my favorite ways to break through the block. It’s playful, low-pressure, and totally freeing. I used Masha’s dreamy watercolors, acrylic paint markers, and Neocolor II pastels — but you can use whatever you have on hand. Each panel becomes its own little flower moment, and when they come together? ✨Magic.✨

If you’ve been craving a project to help you loosen up and explore color + mark making in a new way, come create along with me! I walk you through every step in today’s new video 🌸

🎨 Watch Me Build an Abstract Painting (from start to finish!)

This piece started with no plan—just a brush, some watercolor, and an urge to play.

I layered on Masah’s watercolors, added acrylics, pulled out a few stencils, and let my favorite mark-making tools do the rest. No pressure, no perfection. Just movement, color, and instinct.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or craving inspiration, come paint with me. This isn’t about doing it “right”—it’s about letting go and trusting what shows up on the page.

Lately, I’ve been playing with some beautifully granulating watercolors, and let me tell you—this rich purple with its sneaky green undertone is a total heart-stealer 💜💚

In this new abstract art video, I’m sharing two playful ways to work with simple shapes: loose, layered lines and a wonky set of concentric circles. Both are meant to free up your brush and spark some joy—no perfection allowed here!

I also brought in some mixed media magic with a silver Uniball Signo pen, acrylic paint markers, and tempera sticks. The textures are so good.

If you’ve been craving a little creative permission to just play, this is your invitation. The process is the point ✨

Just a few minutes. A splash of color. A little time to myself in the studio.
This 3x3 abstract is part of a daily painting series I started to stay connected to creativity without pressure.

These tiny pieces are pure play—and a good reminder that showing up matters more than the outcome.

What’s one small way you're making time for art this week?
