Is this Normal...?
This vent pipe coming through the roof has a large square cut, not circular. And it’s bigger than it needs to be, leaving gaps on all sides.

It was posted in my Home Building Help group, and opinions were split.

Some say it’s fine. The boot covers it. You’ll never see it.
Others say it’s lazy and unprofessional and if they cut corners here, where else?
