Hi! It's about time for my biannual (and beefy) Youtube update:
First, I would like to once again apologize for the tremendous hiatus throughout 2024 and into this new year. As with most instances of burnout, I didn't quite realize how bad it was until it was already bad, or that I was even experiencing burnout in the first place. I've gone through a lot of life changes during this time and had to learn different ways of adapting my job to a new lifestyle-- and editing took one of the biggest hits.
With that being said, I'm not going anywhere. I still very much plan to continue with my Journey videos as long as I have a backlog of playthroughs on my hard drive (too many at this point in time). But I would also like to start diversifying my content this year. I started "LeighXP" as a video-game *video essay channel* way back in 2016 and have always had aspirations of incorporating my roots back into what I regularly publish. Alongside this, I've also been thinking up different styles of gameplay videos that aren't full-length playthroughs, stuff like revisiting old childhood games like Zelda or the Sims. I've even been considering the occasional vlog-like video covering some of my creative hobbies outside of streams and editing, such as painting and sculpting. Who knows, it could even be fun to open a shop one day!
Second, I will be starting a VOD channel. I know this has been heavily requested for many years now and I have refused doing so not because I wanted to be contrarian but because I have a difficult relationship with protecting the privacy of my past self. This may seem ironic considering what I do for a living, but there's a large difference between "curated versions" of my past self for the public eye and "unfiltered versions" that you would find on a VOD channel. Considering that, I found an alternative that was comfortable for me in Twitch's VOD highlight feature. I had the ability to sort VODs into collections and discreetly remove them after a year or two passed and I no longer felt comfortable having them public. However, as of today, Twitch has announced that it's so kindly going to cut that feature moving forward and the total amount of highlighted hours on a channel cannot exceed 100. For reference, I have 3,073.
SO. I've decided to create a VOD channel (linked below) for the sake of redirecting those that want to catch a full playthrough while I still pick away at the Journey video backlog here on the main channel. However, the stipulations will be that:
- I will still discreetly remove playthroughs if I no longer feel comfortable having them public
- I will not be uploading every playthrough I've done for the same reasoning
I plan to start with the Persona 3 FES VODs around the time I begin uploading those Journey videos here.
Lastly, the best news of all: the last Persona 4 Journey video is just about done!! Yippee yay yay I never thought I'd see the day LOL burnout really set in during this one, mostly because my intense desire to make it perfect put me in a chokehold. BUT I'm really confident this is one of my best videos yet and I'm really proud of it, so I hope you enjoy!
Next up for Journey videos will be Persona 3 FES and 13 Sentinels, both are playthroughs that I did 1-2 years ago now and long overdo, but I loved both games dearly.
Okay, I think that's everything. If you're still here and read everything, thank you for sticking around and thank you for all your patience as I took a step back from uploading. I miss being as productive as I used to here and I'm endlessly grateful that I get to do what I do, I just had to figure out ways that help keep me motivated as things around me continue to change.
hi! it's been a minute since I've updated youtube on what's going on with my content, so I wanted to give you a general scope of what's happening on twitch and also here with uploads.
• first, I'm playing Persona 2 for the first time over on twitch today! yippee! (in about 2 hours from the time of this post)
• second, I know the P4 videos have been slow coming (trying not to look at that time stamp of the first one), and what it boils down to is this:
1. Persona games always catching me off guard with how much work they are to watch back 2. I've been going through a lot of personal life changes that haven't given me a lot of time for work this year (moving, mental health, trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle-- I pretty much didn't move from my desk for about 3 years straight during covid) 3. My perfectionism :') i just want them to be really good videos!
there will be one more video for P4 and then I'm immediately jumping into P3FES footage as I want to get out all my persona playthroughs ASAP, so expect the P3 journey REAL soon!
anywho, thank you as always for your support and your patience. I know it may have looked like I was dropping the ball on youtube but I promise I'm not going anywhere, just mostly getting some life stuff sorted out.
Hi all! A little update as to why I’ve been so slow to publish videos this year:
Coming from the burnout I was experiencing at the end of last year— it kind of compiled with a bunch of things in my personal life that haven’t been the greatest, and it’s really taken its toll on my ability to edit quicker. Additionally, my perfectionism has been worse than ever to make sure the P5R videos are my best videos yet because of how much I love that game. It’s also a HUGE game even edited down into 5 parts.
All of this to say: I’m very sorry for the long wait inbetween each video. It was not my intention going into this year and I’m very frustrated with myself.
However, all that being said, P3R has given me somewhat of a deadline to finish all of my persona playthroughs up through P3FES and its spin offs. That’s my number one goal— to have all those uploaded in time for its release. I’ve truly become a Persona girlie 😳
Thank you for your patience and for supporting my content regardless of time! I don’t have the words to explain just how much it means to me. I’ll see you in a week or two with the finale of P5R o7
First, I wanted to apologize for my infrequent uploading the second half of last year. I got severely burned out with editing by the time I reached the end of the Kingdom Hearts and had to take some long breaks for my mental health.
I have a ton of games to edit that are on the backlog for 2023, including Persona 5 Royal, FF7R Intergrade, Nier Replicant, and Persona 4 Golden. Additionally, I’ll be making videos on some new releases this year: Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, FF16, and the Persona 3 port!
I’m currently working through P5R and it’ll have a total of 5 videos (part 1 is out now hehehe)
Thank you for your patience, I know uploading inconsistently on Youtube isn’t exactly ideal but I just want to make sure I’m giving you quality content above all else. And as always, if you don’t want to wait for video uploads you can always find me playing these games for the first time over on twitch!
hi howdy!! Just wanted to give some live content updates on the Twitch side of things:
First, I'm currently live watching Kingdom Hearts Dark Road for the first time (all the way through!) if you wanted to catch it live before I condense it as a video.
Additionally, I'm starting Persona 4 Golden tomorrow as my next big playthrough (that will one day... in the far future... become a Youtube video ha ha).

I'm a little late but I wanted to thank you all for 50k!! I managed to catch it on twitter but completely spaced doing so here (the actual platform that made it happen).
I'm very grateful for the growth of this channel in the past year and never thought it'd get to these kinds of numbers when I first started uploading content in 2017. Drowning and miserable in college me would be in awe.
The end of the Kingdom Hearts journey is near (after 1 entire year!) and it's going to be really weird shifting gears to other franchises (until KH4 ofc). I have a lot of other playthroughs to edit down and even some new ideas I'm really excited to see through and it makes me so happy that others enjoy my content enough to stick around and see it too :')
Basically, all this to say: thanks for spending your time with me and for giving me a space to share my love for video games with others. It's a childhood dream to get to do that. <3
As for the next set of Journey videos, I bet you'll never see it coming.
