Two Airlink Embraer passenger jets (an E190 and an E195) performed a very low formation flypast over DHL Stadium in Cape Town on the August 29, 2026, ahead of a rugby test match between South Africa and New Zealand.
The South Africa Civil Aviation Authory has commenced an investigation into the Fly over and Airlink have handed over the Black Boxes. Following the scrutiny, Airlink withdrew its application for a subsequent formation flypast at FNB Stadium, citing adverse weather conditions and ongoing watchgroup reviews.
