His tenure stands as a testament to the stark contrast between effective leadership and its antithesis.

In a nation plagued by governance challenges, Peter Obi's achievements shine as a beacon of excellence. Leaving behind a staggering legacy, he orchestrated a financial stewardship unparalleled in Nigerian history. With meticulous precision, Obi managed to save 75 billion Naira, alongside federal refunds totaling 86 million Billion Naira, and over 150 million dollars securely deposited in local banks. His handover notes to his successor stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability.

Contrastingly, the landscape of Nigerian governance is littered with instances of profligacy and mismanagement. Yet, amidst this backdrop of excess, Peter Obi's tenure stands as a singular example of prudence and progress. Not only did he discharge his duties without owing salaries or pensions, but he also cleared all outstanding debts, to the tune of 33 billion Naira, leaving the state in a position of financial stability and prosperity.

Three years ago, as chairman of one of the banks where Peter Obi left funds for Anambra state, Alex Oti penned "In The Triumph of Profligacy Over Prudence." In it, he lauded Peter Obi's ability to extract maximum value from resources while creating minimum waste, describing it as a profitable skill. Oti also commended Obi as a true example of excellent leadership and accountability, qualities that are rare in today's world. Despite facing political battles, Obi's leadership and accountability stand as a testament to his capabilities.

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, presently serving as the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, previously held the position of Minister of Finance and Economy under Goodluck Jonathan. In her book "Fighting Corruption is Dangerous," on page 61, she highlighted Peter Obi's stance as the lone supporter of savings, which was not backed by his colleagues. Despite his efforts, his colleagues opposed him by shouting him down for advocating savings over the sharing of the country's reserved resources.

Peter Obi stands out as exceptional and unparalleled in the realm of governance in Nigeria. Comparing Peter Obi to those who fall below the average local standards is not just naive, but also represents the utmost level of unseriousness, criminality, evil, and wickedness in undermining progress, hard work, innovation, creativity, and excellence in governance and stewardship of the highest order.

Suffering, smiling, boasting, praying, and hoping are five verbs that capture the resilience and contradictions of the Nigerian experience.

It never ceases to amaze me that despite having abundant natural resources, many Nigerians face poverty, lack basic amenities, and endure crumbling infrastructure. Yet, we keep smiling. Nigerians are known for their warm hospitality, vibrant culture, and ability to find joy in the face of adversity. The country boasts of its rich cultural heritage, accomplished citizens, and economic potential. However, there is also the kind of boasting where we pretend to be something we are not, what we call "forming" or "fronting", we do this just to appear higher in social status, wealth, or success than we actually are.

Then there's the "Oga" of all; prayer. Religious faith plays a significant role in Nigerian life, with many turning to prayer for solace, guidance, and hope. Despite the many challenges, many Nigerians remain optimistic about their future, holding onto hope for a better tomorrow whatever that means.

Nigeria is a place where difficulties coexist with resilience, faith, and determination. This complexity showcases the country's challenges and the people's ability to find strength in the face of adversity but also the very reason our leaders take us for granted because however they push us they are sure of one thing, we will keep stretching and bending because we are home to suffering and smiling 😢💔 😁 😊

This visionary initiative aims to reduce medical tourism, stem medical brain drain, and provide vital support to underprivileged families in Nigeria.
