That's cool, the Milkman doesn't need your money anyway, Neal Mohan. I'm an animal, you don't know me YOU DON'T KNOW ME, NEAL! YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME, NEAL!? I GOT FIRE IN MY HEART AND DISGUSTING 18 KARAT ICE ON MY WRIST! I'LL JUST MAKE ANOTHER VIDEO! AND IT'LL BE BETTER, AND FUNNIER!
Thanks to everyone who watched the new episode! It always makes me happy when I put out content that I'm proud of. Working on some new content, can't wait to gather all the companions and then run through some Halloween mods!
Finally watched the Charlie Sheen documentary and it was alright. I'm a bit young for this one, I primarily remember Mr. Sheen from the 2010's when he was going through his "winning" phase, which is weird because that's when I was playing Fallout: New Vegas for the first time. Sean Penn also made an appearance for some reason, I think they made movies together when they were kids.
The story primarily takes place in LA during the 80's/90's interim period. Money was free-flowing and Hollywood was actually good at making movies. They went into gratuitous detail about the sex and the drugs and the alcohol, but it didn't feel like they were glorifying it, which is good. The overwhelming feeling of the entire documentary is that the party is over, and that it's been over for a very long time. It's deeply nostalgic, but it also feels like Mr. Sheen has moved on. I think modern Charlie Sheen gets that it's over and that it's time to be normal, which is a moment that comes to every American at some point if they survive long enough. You either leave the party on a high note, or the party leaves you wherever it wants.
The way this man approached life was wild. It's essentially just an entire life lived with 10 Charisma. At one point, the orderlies catch him smoking crack right there in rehab, to which he calmly hands them the crackpipe and asks to go watch a basketball game on TV. The supervising doctor says "y'know what? You seem like a good kid, and this is a promising development. Alright, go watch your basketball game."
It's a bit jarring how many opportunities were available to this man, but I guess that's how life is when you're Hollywood royalty. He had access to the pantheon of great American entertainers telling him to chill out and he just kept going like an animal. I think the only reason he's still kicking is because his father actually cared. Martin Sheen did what he could, but he had sort of a Reagan attitude when it came to substances. He didn't seem to understand that you can't force a junkie to stop, they can only stop when they decide to stop.
Anyway, I thought it was a good documentary. Charlie Sheen was coherent, lucid, and honest. The tone was consistent and focused (when Sean Penn wasn't talking), they didn't glorify any of it, it was just straightforward and honest, and I think more documentaries need to take this approach.
