We recently tested the Velotric Discover M, a commuter ebike featuring a mid-drive motor and a throttle. While a throttle is incredibly convenient, this combination can put extra stress on the motor and drivetrain, especially when starting from a dead stop in a high gear. The wait is over. The Aventon Current is officially here, and it is a massive step up for their lineup. We’re talking 140/150mm travel and an 800Wh battery.

Aventon just dropped their brand new full-suspension eMTB, the Current! JT and I put both models to the test in Phoenix, and I've got to admit—this is the bike I'm most interested in owning and riding right now. It packs a serious punch with that new Ultro X motor (120Nm torque!).
