Wishing a Happy Heavenly Birthday to the late and beloved Wayne Allwine, a man who changed Mickey Mouse forever.

Growing up, Wayne was a devoted fan of The Mickey Mouse Club. His father was a barbershop quartet singer with a high tenor and a rare ability to move effortlessly from low to high ranges without cracking. Put two and two together, and that influence helped shape a remarkable voice, one that would redefine a character for generations.

At just seven years old, Wayne made his television debut when he was interviewed on Art Linkletter’s House Party. He continued performing throughout high school, acting in plays and eventually forming his own acoustic music group, The International Singers. The group performed at clubs and colleges across California, and Wayne later recorded songs separately with Bobby Vinton and Dobie Gray.

After high school, Wayne played guitar for Davie Allan & the Arrows on their hit Blue’s Theme. He was also an occasional Dixieland jazz drummer, performing with George Probert of the Firehouse Five Plus Two as part of the Monrovia Old Style Jazz Band.

By 1966, Wayne stepped away from music in pursuit of a more “normal” lifestyle and applied for a mailroom job, one that landed him at the Walt Disney Studios, possibly the happiest mailroom on Earth, and a place that would change his life forever.

After three years in the mailroom and a brief break from the company, Wayne was asked if he’d like to learn Foley work from Jimmy MacDonald. He spent seven years in Disney’s sound department until director and producer Lou Debney informed him that auditions for Mickey Mouse had opened, as Jimmy could no longer maintain the falsetto. Wayne auditioned through the Screen Actors Guild, and to his surprise, landed the role of Mickey himself.

Wayne officially took over as Mickey in 1977, voicing the character across television, film, park attractions, and more until his passing in 2009. Along the way, Mickey and Minnie’s on-screen romance became real when Wayne married Minnie’s voice actress, Russi Taylor. The two were named Disney Legends in 2008.

Happy Birthday, Wayne. We miss you every day, pal.

Okay, this is a post I never thought I’d be making right now. While doing my usual Mickey deep-diving session on Google, hunting for some of the coolest and rarest behind-the-scenes Mickey material, I was beyond pleasantly surprised to stumble upon early concept logos for the campaign celebrating Mickey’s 100th birthday in 2028.

These logos were part of a logo exploration project commissioned to graphic designer Steven Rademacher, and yes, this is the real deal. 2028 is going to be HUGE for Mickey, and I genuinely dream that there might be some way ‪@Disney‬ will let me be a part of it somehow.

On this day in Mickey Mouse history, Mickey and the gang raced onto the scene in Disney Jr.’s Mickey and the Roadster Racers in 2017. Serving as a follow-up to the successful Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the series brought the Sensational Six and beyond to the city of Hot Dog Hills, where they competed in thrilling, high-energy races. Each episode was split into two 11-minute segments, with the second focusing on Minnie, Daisy, and Cuckoo-Loca as the Happy Helpers, traveling around town to problem-solve and assist citizens in need.

Mickey and the Roadster Racers was also notable for being the first Mickey-related project since 1985 in which Disney Legend Tony Anselmo did not reprise his role as Donald Duck. Instead, Daniel Ross took over the role for the series. While many sources have claimed that Tony was busy working on other projects, Daniel himself has confirmed via TikTok Live that this was not the reason. The decision was likely executive-driven, but Daniel delivered strong performances during his time voicing Donald.

On the note of voice actors, the show became well known for its star-studded lineup of guest appearances. These included celebrities such as Gordon Ramsay, Guillermo del Toro, and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as racing stars that fit the show’s theme, including Jimmie Johnson, Danica Patrick, and Jeff Gordon.

The series continued to air until 2019, with many sources stating that the third season was rebranded as Mickey Mouse Mixed-Up Adventures. However, Daniel Ross himself has debunked this on IMDb, stating that Mixed-Up Adventures was developed as a separate series with a new direction, describing it as “a fundamentally different show.”

BREAKING NEWS! Disney Branded Television has officially greenlit a third Phineas and Ferb movie. Series co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are returning with a brand-new, time-twisting storyline for the upcoming feature.

“Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest time-travel experiment backfires, erasing the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad—meaning the boys never become brothers and every day is merely adequate. As reality unravels and the future hangs in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it’s too late.”

Following the triumphant return of Phineas and Ferb last year with its highly anticipated fifth season, which pulled in massive viewership, it’s no surprise to see the boys back in action once again. The new film will reunite the full voice cast as they embark on one of their biggest adventures yet.

Production is expected to begin later this year and will be slated to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney+.

Wishing a hyuckin’ fantastic birthday to Jason Marsden!

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Jason and his family moved to California at the age of 10 when his father accepted a teaching position on the West Coast. It was there that Jason landed his first-ever recurring role as A.J. Quartermaine on General Hospital, officially kickstarting his acting career. He soon made his feature film debut as Tommy in Robot Jox, before beginning a long and celebrated journey into voice-over work.

Jason’s first voice role was with Disney, where he took over the character Cavin on Adventures of the Gummi Bears. From there, he became a familiar voice across countless animated projects, especially within the world of Disney. His roles include Shnookums in Disney’s delightfully obscure slapstick series The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show, a spinoff of Marsupilami, Thackery Binx in Hocus Pocus, Mungo in the Academy Award–winning Tarzan, Tino Tonitini in The Weekenders, Kovu in The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, and Felix Renton in Kim Possible. Most notably, Jason is best known as the voice of Max Goof, Goofy’s son, a role he has voiced since 1995, breaking out with the beloved cult classic A Goofy Movie.

Happy Birthday, Jason! Today is your day to stand out above the crowd!
