Anyhow, I’ve been trawling through my old videos, seeing if I can actually relearn how to play those old tunes. Basically, can I play a live mega mix of bangers? Honestly, that in of itself is a big ask, but I reckon I may be able to get there. I will record a little mini mega mix somewhen this week.
Looking back over my videos, which one would you like to see me attempt next out of these two?

I don’t want to screw THAT one up! I need some practice first, before taking on THAT one🤪
So when I said last week that I had some exciting plans for this week, being admitted into hospital for an emergency life saving operation was not one of them!
I’m very lucky. Everything was caught in the nick of time, and I’m on course to make a full recovery. A huge thanks to the incredible staff at the Royal Hobart Hospital. From the moment I arrived at the emergency room, through the diagnosis, scans, operation prep, to the operation, and now recovery, every member of staff has been nothing less than incredible. I cannot say thank you enough! 🙏 🙏 🙏
In a way it’s more than a little annoying. I’d rebuilt the entire rig, making some much needed upgrades at the same time. Everything was sat there ready to go for this weekend, and then well, this weekend happened instead!
I’m itching to get back to my synth, but sadly I’ve got to spend the next few weeks focussing on my recovery instead. It’s just one of those little curve balls life throws at you at times I guess! Oh well!
Apologies for having been a little quiet of late, my rig is once again in pieces laid across a table, this time nothing bad though! I’m waiting on a couple of major upgrades to arrive, and I should be back in business next weekend.
I also passed 45k subs a few days ago, so it’s shout out time again!
This time, it’s the one and only max best!
One of the joys of living on a remote island in the middle of nowhere, is that you have to make your own entertainment! It doesn’t matter if you play a modular synth, you’re a rapper, a DJ, or you play a recorder…. Around here, you will be urged to get up on stage, and do your thing!
So imagine yourself in my shoes for a moment. How the fook do you get up on stage and play a set after someone like max? You simply can’t! So you go home, practice, practice, practice; and then practice some more; and hope that you won’t be quite as terrible next time!
I mean seriously. For the second year running max will be representing Australia at the world DMC championships. He’s insanely talented!
You know, occasionally I get the odd comment that what I’m doing is better than “dj’s these days”, and I’m looking at the DJs I’m surrounded by in Tasmania, and I simply think, nah. This is what a tassie DJ looks like:
Well, this one randomly popped up in my feed today, so I’m going back to break tradition slightly, and just give a bit of a random shout out to the amazing @grace_chia
Tasmania is blessed to have such a depth of talent, who can not only create great music, but who can also stand on stage, and utterly smash that live performance out of the park!
Grace is definitely one of those people! Whenever I rock up to a festival over here, whether I’m playing that weekend, or just kicking back for the vibes; whenever grace is on the lineup, her presence creates a huge buzz throughout the crowd. No one will ever dare miss her performances, because they are always spell binding!
