The distance from the Earth to the Sun is ≈ 149 597 870 km
Speed of light ≈ 299,792 km/s

We divide:
149 597 870 ÷ 299792 ≈ 499 seconds

499 ÷ 60 = 8 minutes and 19 seconds

That is, if the Sun disappeared right now, for another 8 minutes and 19 seconds we would continue to see its light and feel its gravity — as if nothing had happened.
