Happy Bangles Day 2026
May 9 2026


When we launched this concept in 2018 to exclusively celebrate this precious round metal and have a day just for bangles . We have always thought about the good things and bright things in our life … a day to celebrate women , positivity , happiness, achievement, charity , love etc !!!
However this year I am adding a dedication to loved ones who left us .. the final good bye 👋 as hard as it can be … the memories with our loved ones stays forever and can never be erased !

The Final Good Bye !!!
Yes , this year I am dedicating bangles day for my appa ! The person who first held my hand and helped me take my first few steps on Mother Earth ! And from that moment on earth and until this year, this man spent all the hard earned money , just to provide me good education (so I could get 2 masters degree) , music classes , dance classes , karate classes , personality development programs , leadership courses , typing classes , programming classes , all the expensive gifts I have including pattu sarees and gold jewels, all the best vacations I took , all the fancy restaurants i ate , all the celebrities we met , all the VIP treatment we got wherever we went , I owe everything to my appa ! A man of few words , who didn’t talk much , only said “ prachanai vendam” to all of us for anything ! He loved harmony and peace and made sure our house was always in zen mode 🫶🏻

He is not there with me … the last 10 hours of his life I was with him , just touching him with my hands, the exact same hands that is bejeweled with bangles , I asked permission if I can touch him and say shloka and he gladly said ok , then I started applying ointment for him and feeding him lunch . Told him he needs to exercise , instantly he moved his hands and legs , talked about my girls , he smiled …. I was happy that appa was getting better and out of danger …… just as I head back home and said I will see you tomorrow appa …..2 hrs later , I get a call from Priya to come to hospital and before we could go he left us … !!
When I reached hospital , he was not talking , he was not moving , he was not in pain , but he was sad , I know , my appa was sad to leave us ! I am staring at him …. So soon appa ? I only asked you to live until you are 80 , why so soon appa ? I cannot talk , I cannot cry , he is gone … it was time for final good bye …. And today on bangles day 2026 I am writing this as a dedication post to my appa ! The final good bye to the man who helped me take first few steps in life & stood by me on all my highs and lows , the man who had solution for all the problems we had . He is gone ! Our pillar of strength is gone !!

He told me only one piece of advise in life - “let people be however they want , you be good” !! The hardest final Good bye !!!

*GOOD & KIND PEOPLE MAY GO - THEIR GOODNESS & KINDNESS NEVER GOES AND STAYS FOREVER*.

Many fondly called him Ramu, clients addressed him “ Auditor Sir”, neighbours and friends knew him as non controversial and political bigwigs revered him as Mr.Reliable and a rapid solution provider and the world gave him one of the most Prideful Send Offs “ THIS GENTLEMAN WILL NO LONGER BE WITH US”.

Its all about our beloved Athimber R.Subbu Rathinam, Chartered Accountant, who passed away on 20th Feb 2026 at the age of seventy three.

After Melmangalam, the only village and farm house our family would have visited is Namagiripettai. Vividly remember how we drove into the middle of the huge extent of Agricultural lands where we saw our beloved Athimber for the first time, standing near a tractor, wearing a simple attire and welcoming us for

The Nichayathartham (Engagement). Athimber’s father late Rangaswamy Iyer met us near the bus stand to guide us to his home.

The words spoken by our father Late S.Nagaraja Iyer still echoes. We were a large contingent of people and in an apologetic tone our father said “ we have come in large numbers for the Engagement and please dont mistake”.

Pat came the reply from late Rangaswamy Iyer with the impactful mofussil touch, words soaked in Love “ Sir you be the Mapillai Side and we will play the girl side. Pl dont worry. Happy to welcome you all”.

Nichayathartham got over in the evening and Athimber was a great Sivaji lover. He took us all that evening to THANGAPATHAKAM film at Pettai. My God, almost 50 years yet so fresh in the memory.

Uma mami’s father Late Srinivasamoorthi mama saw his horoscope and told our father “ This boy will floruish in life. Let 10 chartered accountants practice in the same street, people will come in search of him and his predictions proved so right and all throughout. He had the Midas Touch. Whatever he did it will become a success.

Before setting up independent practice, he had served only two companies and one boss, Transport Corporation and Indian Road Lines to one Mr.Goyal, who became so dependent on him, as he could win his trust so comfortably.

The days all of us have spent in the two rented houses at Robinson park colony in Royapuram and later years in their homes in T.Nagar will remain just indelible.

“ kannan has come here. Go and take him to a film said his father and both of us have gone and watched Sivaji Ganesan films”.

Joined the profession in 1989 and filed the first Income Tax Return in 1991 for a meagre income through him and he had ensured a hazzle free smooth journey all throughout.

Not just we few relatives, he had kept every client of his hazzle and litigation free. His professional work was a combination of sheer intelligence, native touch, pleasant narratives ensuring the goal is accomplished.

Remained such a sweet and totally a non controversial person throughout his life. Confrontation by him or with him is unknown. He would settle down any heat and make it pleasant and peaceful.

Shrewd intellect capable of grasping every syllable in no time, when the Annual Budget document gets released. Those days, it will take a day for the Prints to reach and he would be the first few to get it.

He wouldnt miss any seminars, conferences or professional gatherings and had remained up to date till the end.

Vidya said even on 20th Feb after they shifted him to a room in the hospital from ICU, he had given instructions both to Mala and his brother Kannan as to which client should do what.

He remained a holistic personality. For the Family, he was a Family Man, available to them always. Nothing above family and its happiness.

For the Clients, he was the best professional advisor and service provider. Not one had ever cribbed.

For his sister and brothers, he remained as a Light House guiding them at every stage of their lifes. Mala used to say with so much pride, both Sridhar and Kannan are my sons and not brothers in law. For both Indra Manni and Shobhana akka, he was their Tall Brother giving them the confidence “ I am always there”

For his sister and brother, he showered respect and adoration with a never diminishing gratitude, with whom he stayed for 14 years to become what he had been in his life.

Mala was his special with equal reciprocation by her. They are really Made for Each Other. They lived as true friends and inspite of the best maturity, the parting became so cruel for her and made her say “ joined him at 20 years and lived for 46 years. Know nothing in this world beyond him and my children. He had ensured anything and everything for me as his Queen. Will take time to handle this emptiness and know worldly actions for the first time at this age”.

Amongst the three sons in law, our mother if at all would have spoken few sentences to any one of them, it was Subbu Rathinam Athimber( not sure whether she would have done it face to face).

Man of few words, but will choose his moments to speak and make it so impactful.

Wanted everyone of us to be happy. Mala had said several times to me, when she had asked “ do you deal my brother professionally because he earns well, Athimber would reply - Enna Mala Naama Pathu Valaranda Payam Namba Kannan”.

Viji used to say - Athimber would say “ Kannan namba payan maa. He is committed to his profession. We both have to take care of his interests.”

Other than a few thousand rupees in my pocket, do not know what we are really worth, as both of them have been managing it all along out of love and care.

His sense of reciprocation and his sense of gesture on occasions will remain as his unique signature.

The gifts given by Mala & Athimber to each and everyone one of us ( even Balaji’s son is a beneficiary) will remain outstanding.

They will keep presenting something or the other for every occasion, big or small doesnt matter to them. They can never visit us empty handed.

He had remained the most trust worthy Professional. Suresh our brother two days back while enquiring his demise said “ Athimber never charged me all these 25 plus years. He wanted me to educate a girl instead”, something which we came to know only now.

An advocate spoke to us today to whom Athimber used to give matters and he said just few months back he divulged that you are his brother in law.

He will remain the definition for a Noble Human Being. Never ever thought or talked bad, showed ill will, ever helpful, pleasant, kind gestures, sweet manners and never attempted to prove anything to anyone and was therefore in complete peace and contentment.

What he had been to Mala and Children will keep reminding us the Noble role of a father and husband.

Father - Daughter relationship is bit difficult to comprehend by this world. It is so subtle, yet so deep. When Vidya and Priya shared how blessed they were in being with him in those precious last moments

Even a rock would melt hearing them. They tried everything to save their father. Vidya feeding Athimber, Priya holding vidoe calls with Arun, Vasant and the doctors in the hospital would have given him the greatest solace and peace to Athimber, though both remained helpless seeing their father departing in front of them.

Parents love all Children alike from the moment they are born. Divya still enjoyed the best of Athimber, also possibly because she stayed the longest with them. Athimber will melt if anyone refers about Divya.

Both the Acharyals extended Unique Grace on Athimber. Acharyals treated him as one of their ardent sishyas. Reason is obvious. Athimber possessed all the Satvik Gunas of a Sishya. Contentment, no ill will, no back bitting, never felt jealous, never fell into comparison trap, ever helpful and truly devoted to Acharyals.

Even when Athimber stands in the corner of Guru Bhavanam, Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam would ifentify and convey happiness on his arrival into Sringeri.

Athimber passed away on 20th Feb 2026. Mala turned 67 on 23th February and the first person to greet was our beloved Athimber.

When both Mala and Vidya were clearing the papers at home, what landed first into their hands was the Birthday Greeting Card of Athimber greeting Mala in the year 1989. He will always be with him and his family and what better proof does one need.

From the moment of his death till the moment before he was cremated

All of us heard, received phone calls, messages conveying to us, what our Athimber really was to each one of them.

Athimber you had been a LOVELY MAN to each one of them orelse why would two cleaners of your road rushed on hearing your death and stood before you and declared our deity is gone.

Why would the villager from pettai cry out so profusely even seconds before you were offered to Agni Deva

“ Ramu please wake up, see me and talk to me, who is there for me after you”

It was a death house, but all of us heard only sweet, lovely and choicest of words from hearts which were neither planned nor prototyped. The whole place reverberated His Goodness and What he had meant or been to them. No of us have experienced so much of positive thoughts and words about a man, who had plunged all of us in unbearable sorrow.

Dear Appa it's your Centenary Birthday today Happy Birthday Pa.I thought I will only share a picture of you and mention it's your 100th Birthday.But i thought I will be doing injustice if I don't write about you.
Last night I was thinking how grand we would have celebrated your 100th Birthday.Giri and Kannan would have booked Pravachana Mandhiram.Chathur veda Parayanam,Rudra Homam,Chandi Homam various poojas would have taken place. Ramachandran would have lead the Kanagabhishegam followed by Shankara and Meenakshi,The Children and Grand Children and Lakshmi and Athimber would have concluded it.All maternal and Paternal relatives would have attended.There would have been a grand celebration in Kodimangalam also.All these i am doing as a Manasega Samarpanam Appa.
Now about your life and what a person you were.
Like everybody born in this world our parents are the world's best parents.Amma can never be separated from you.She had equal role in inculcating Good values and habits in us by her silence itself. She never believed in lengthy advice but on the contrary you would advise from Dawn to Dusk.
You enjoyed life every minute you lived Appa.You did everything with much involvement and loved doing whatever you did.Like how you performed Lakshmi's wedding in 1975,you performed Radha's wedding in 1994with full enthusiasm and happiness.
Your day will start by 5 am.You will keep the vessels in the bathroom in the backyard for the servant to clean. Then boiling water for all of us to bath in the shed and bringing it bucket by bucket.
Next fresh vegetables purchase and cutting it .Amma will be tensed because she has to cook,feed us,pack our lunch and plait our hair before the 7.40 bus. The Friday oilbath and Srivilliputhur vasanai podi and the sambarani which you will put with vadikoodai are unforgettable.
But you will happily give us cut carrots,tomatoes with sugar and grated coconut.
All our fountain pens will be filled with Ink and watches will be set to key.Bus passes will be ready every month.
For the girls you used to give one rupee or Two rupees. But for the boys no money.
You were very strict and we would not even think of what you don't like.But you achieved that without scolding hitting or beating us.You will see the cinema poster and never let us go to movies.But when we came to College you let us with friends . Suppose we do something wrong you will start your lecture and will not stop for days depending on the intensity of the mistake committed.At one stage Amma will say please leave them.How many times will you say this .
Bus was the only mode of transport to Nagamalai in those days. You used to carry bags and bags of provisions,flowers, fruits, vegetables,oil,butter and coffee powder. You used to carry heavy lunch bags for us and Amma to the hospitals when we delivered our babies.But never uttered word of stress or distress.
We rarely went to Hotels.Amma will only cook the yummiest food including custard and Icecream with Brown and Polson and Weikfield powders.You lived upto 93 because Amma took care of you from the age of 13.You will decide the menu,buy things accordingly and help her to cook them .She will serve again and again and you will eat well.
You have told that most of your life you have spent in Hospital benches and Bus stops All your life you would have walked more than 200 kms which kept you healthy .
Your love and passion for the English language is beyond words.You will read the newspaper from morning till evening.Amma will doubt if you are unwell if you don't read the Newspaper.The way you used to read Mark Antony's speech is evergreen in my memory.
You lived a simple life Appa You yourself earned a good pension and your sons were earning abundantly. But that did not bring the slightest change in you.
You loved Vanaja and Jayasree like how you loved all of us. You lived 10 after Amma is because of the love and best care given by both of them. When you were in Giri's house you will listen to Vanaja and when you were in Kanna's house you will listen to Jayasree.If Jayasree is absent from town for even a day you will be upset. You thought only she can take care of you . There has always been a smile in your face when we say Vanaja.
Appa you have told us several times about your childhood and how you lost your mother when you were 2 years old and you don't remember her face.Thatha served as Statiion Master in small places and you were brought up your chithappas and chithis.. Meenu paatti and Thatha were your favourite and Ramasamy Thatha got you the job.
You have told us that your 3 years of stay in your mama's house changed life completely. That was a turning point and you started to study very well. But you used to say Sonameter and Electricity practicals pulled your score in your BA that you ended up in a second class.
You loved all our maternal uncles like your own brothers. Muthu mama and Shankar mama were your favourite. But you will always talk about the best qualities of Ambi mama,Ram mama and Vichu mama. Our mamas were our pillars of support when we lost Rajunna.Ambi mama even did the cremation for him. Both Ambi mama and Ram mama will not eat even a single meal without you.
Both Athais had extreme love and affection and respect for you and Amma.In the Kodimangalam family there is only one Anna for all the 4 families.The Quantum of love and affection they have for you is infinite.Starting from Venguttu Chithappa,Chellappa, Chithappa, Periya Machi Athai to Chinna Uma Athai every body loved you and respected you and it is continuing till date.
I have seen you shed tears twice. In Thirunagar when we came to see Rajunna you held Mappillai's hands and shed tears saying you are going to witness your son's death. The second time after Rajunna's death when Chellathai came you really burst out.
But when Amma passed away you were calm and composed though you shared a lot of instances from your life later.
I covered only a few things about you Appa. I don't want to stop this write up but it's time to say goodbye. Bless us from heaven Appa. Love you Pa.
I am documenting this because I want the future generations of the Nagarans should know that there was Legend who lived in this family . It will be there in Bhavish Arts You Tube Channel Appa.

Dear all ,

Thank you for all the love and support .

As all of you know Bhavish Arts is primarily a dance school and I have also tried to incorporate theater when feasible
Many of you know we have several other projects that we launched to help needy and promote charity through dance

I am listing a few below :
Dance for a reason - donations to 36 charity institutions by 100 + ladies through dance
Social distance dance - 108 ladies virtually participated and we donated to Covid affected families
2to4 - 12 creative programs one for each month
Manage relax please - 70 families were introduced to a mental health tool free of cost
Cook with Kabali - entertainment cooking show and sponsored program
Street dance for a cause - 3 year program for groceries to poor people through dance
Reels for a reason - donating to charity through reels
Bhavish arts recital - 100% non profit - donations went to education for 11 kids their one year fees
All of these were done with the help of my close friends from michigan, friends from Orlando , my family from India, supporters , and student families in both Michigan and Orlando

In addition - my personal projects through dance classes , we have donated for provisions , kids education assistance, wheel chair assistance, artificial leg , setting up small business for poor , cancer patients , blind , and several food donations during needs and regular basis

All this was only possible because of my dance classes and my students ! Heartfelt thanks to all my student families in the last 20 years !

My personal goal is to help 1000 people before my life time in some way , not just monetary donation .

I am temporarily pausing kids dance classes , however, God willing I should be able to start soon !
Please keep me in your prayers to achieve my goal ♥️

I truly wish everyone can continue dance and wishing everyone lots of success , miracles and happiness in everything 🩷
