Hello! I am zallard1, a speedrunner who primarily specializes in the Punch-Out series!

I started out on YouTube in 2006, when I started to dabble with Star Fox 64 high scores. Over a few years, I put down score after score that took intense amount of practice, skill, and persistence. I was frequently able to set world records on several of the stages in the game.

Eventually in 2009, I moved on to speedrunning once I realized that the optimization mindset that I've gotten better at through Star Fox 64 could be directly applied to speedrunning. I started with speedruns of Star Fox 64 and Splatterhouse since I loved both of these games.

2009 was also a pivotal year for the direction I would go, because that was also the release of Punch-Out for the Wii, which I heavily started getting into learning and competing for good times. I branched out to Super Punch-Out, then Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, and the rest is history!

I hope you enjoy your stay on this channel! Thanks for stopping by!

Just as a heads up, Twitch has recently announced that they plan to mass delete everyone's highlights until they're under a 100 hour threshold. I have about 390 hours worth of content on Twitch that I will have to preserve and archive.

So, you will be seeing many many uploads from me in the coming months as I work through trying to get them archived (with chat added hopefully) and uploaded here. I apologize for the oncoming flood of stuff, but I don't really have a choice lol

YouTube has been changing their policies a lot lately, but their new policy change that allows them to chargeback any past videos that their notoriously inaccurate AI deems de-monetizable is a legitimately dangerous change that can potentially ruin people's lives.

I've been on the fence on if I should attempt to make an effort to create well edited videos for this website for a couple of years, and recently I've thought of a couple of cool ideas for videos, but stuff like that new swearing policy change that completely ruined Summoningsalt's original Mega Man 2 video, and now this new thing where YouTube will take past ad revenue back from you, has pretty much completely convinced me that it isn't worth attempting any of it.

I'm not really sure what I can really do about this change, but there is a possibility that I may not use this website at all until this policy change is completely reversed. I might even start uploading my PB videos to Twitch instead of Youtube, since at least there, I can't get chargebacks from videos just... existing over there.

Feel free to chime in if anything on this front changes with YouTube's new policy, or if you happen to have some added insight on any of this new stuff going on right now. In the meantime, I'll likely focus on being a bit more active on my Twitch account (which uses the same name as I use here).

Thank you for taking the time to read this, hope you have a good one.

To everyone who's probably wondering "does zallard know about the incredible newly discovered 2 player mode in Super Punch Out?"

Yes I am aware of it. Expect a video on it pretty soon...

Unsure how many people will see this, but I'll be reuploading the 2 most recent Wii Punch Out fights today & unlisting the current ones to remove a pretty high pitch tone throughout the videos. As an added bonus, the newer versions of the uploads will also be in 4k, and the lower resolutions will have even more clarity than the current uploads. Sorry for the inconvenience!
