I have always loved food from all over the world but Indian food holds a special place in my heart. Shahi Paneer, Rajma Rice, Chhole Bhature have been a major part of my childhood and still remind me of the days when I used to binge on them as a kid.

Another important memory of my childhood is helping my mom in the kitchen and never liking it at all. But what I didn’t want to do then turned out to be a boon for me when I started living independently in Satya Niketan in Delhi. I wasn’t dependent on outside food and the skill also got me a lot of praise from people around me.

Now that I am all grown up, I not only enjoy eating food from all kinds of cuisine but I also enjoy cooking it. On Sundays I am usually found in the kitchen making breakfast and lunch for my family. Some days are reserved for making Chhole Bhature for gatherings I host at my house and on other days I just make English breakfast and sandwiches. But if you ask me, Rajma is the one thing that I can cook better than most people in my circle.

Another part that I enjoy a lot is plating. I think my love for presentation of food comes from working in the field of interior designing.

There are some things that just bring you peace on days when life gets very chaotic and cooking is that thing for me.

A very modern look has been given to this 3 bhk residence in Mumbai by crafting every corner very meticulously. While the bedrooms and the living room have an inviting warmth, the temple altar in the house has beautiful carvings.

First projects are always special and I remember mine vividly.

I started taking construction projects in 2015 while I was still at my previous job with Univariety. But 8 months later I fully transitioned to interior designing.

When my boss at my previous organization learnt that I had started interior designing, he reached out to me for the decor and styling for the firm's office.

We were asked to do the tiling, redo the bathrooms, and also design the work stations and got only 40 days to do it.

While my team and I took up the task with a lot of enthusiasm, we slowly realised that there were a pile of issues that had to be addressed.

The wires had been chewed by rats, there was water seepage in the office and many other issues.

Doing all of it in such little time seemed like a daunting task. But we decided to take one step at a time.

Every day seemed like a test of our spirit and we could only pass it by remaining calm and giving our best.
I worked for almost 22-23 hours a day and I remember spending the entire day at site with the vendors.

While we were working on the decor and the styling of the areas like for the pantry room, we worked on the flooring and did repanelling for work stations as well. We also did rewiring for internet and electrical wires.

After a lot of hard work we completed the project in 39 days and it all paid off when our work was featured in The Hindu.

My first few projects will always be very special to me because they really taught me a lot.

Hyderabad is a special city for me and out of all the places here, Banjara Hills is the closest to my heart. This is where I stayed when I came to the city in 2015 with not much with me, I had a job at a very senior level at a company but I had no idea about what I would do next. I always dreamt of being an entrepreneur but I didn't know that it would materialize so soon. 🧿

This is the city where I met my wife. I remember spending my evenings with her at various cafes and telling her all about my dreams and she would keep listening and encouraging me. Little did we know that all of it would become reality for us. While she never had plans of being an entrepreneur I pulled her into it within 2 years of starting my own firm and today she runs a successful wedding decor firm! ✨️

That's me and my 2.5 year old son, Avyaan.

Being a father changes your life in many ways, and each of them is more beautiful than the other. It is a learning that shapes you, and I'll tell you a few things I learned.

It teaches you parenthood. You actually realise the importance of your own parents fully when you have your little ones in your life.

Kids are inquisitive, and it is absolutely okay. What is regular for you is a mystery to them. So let them play with your watch or fiddle with the lid of a box.

Kids learn healthy habits. Many researches have shown that parents who work out are more likely to have kids who excel in physical activities and become sharper.

They observe and imbibe behaviours like anger, hate, etc. You might want to refrain from those when you have kids around!

The one common question that all the interior designers are asked is what their house looks like and how they designed it. So here is a sneak peek into my first home which I built in 2020.

I selected a contemporary theme for the house, and that is visible in every part of the space.
As a designer you are so used to doing 3Ds. But because I was designing this for myself it was just me and my ideas. So it was quite a unique experience for me.

My wife wanted 3Ds so she was a little skeptical when I did not show her the designs. But eventually she was okay with me keeping the design a surprise because she knew that I would do justice to it as this is what I do all day at work.

And when I finally revealed it to her, she was very happy with it. But the Mandir was a little small for her liking so that is the only thing she wasn't okay with.

We always wanted a home theater in the house where we could have a good time with our friends and family and that is what we achieved in this house. That is the corner where many precious memories were created.

There are a couple of brands that are my favorite when it comes to lamps, furniture, and artifacts and I used all of them for this house. I have mentioned them in the video of the home tour I posted on the Youtube channel for my interior firm, BRINTEXT. You can watch the whole video on the Youtube channel, DECOR ANTHEM.

First houses are always special and that is why this one remains close to my heart.

Currently I am designing my next house which I will complete by 2026 and I can’t wait to share more about it with you. 😀
