Today, Additional Secretary & MD (NHM), MoHFW, 𝗦𝗺𝘁. 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗸 visited Ayushman Arogya Mandir–PHC Pransli and Ayushman Arogya Mandir–PHC Sasan in Gujarat to review the implementation of 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 programmes and assess healthcare delivery on the ground.

The visit focused on strengthening 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, improving service delivery mechanisms and ensuring that care remains 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 to community needs.

India co-hosted the launch of OneSCD: A Global Partnership to Advance Equity and Transform Sickle Cell Care at #UNGA81, New York, with the Government of Nigeria, WHO, UNICEF, Africa CDC, the World Coalition on Sickle Cell Disease and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, highlighted India’s comprehensive approach to Sickle Cell Disease through the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission, launched under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

She shared how population-scale screening, early diagnosis, counselling, treatment and follow-up are being integrated into public health systems, while emphasising that no individual with Sickle Cell Disease should be left without timely and continued care because of where they live or their socio-economic circumstances.

India continues to strengthen global partnerships towards more accessible, equitable and people-centred sickle cell care.
