For those newer to the community, we host this in memory of my mom who struggled all her life. She suffered from depression and addiction which cost her her life at only 38 years old. Her pain and depression left my sister and me motherless at 12 and 14 years old respectively (and we each had own struggles over the years as a result).

But that’s not the only reason we host this every year.

We host it for all of you that have struggled or been close to someone who has struggled. We host it for our suffering children and military veterans alike. We host it in memory of all those who felt so hopeless that their desperation led to them taking their own life.

Mental health is our nation’s biggest crisis in my mind. We need help now more than ever.

This fundraiser supports To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), an organization that exists to provide hope and direct help—up to and including sponsorships for therapy and treatment for those in desperate need.
