Hello my friends! After having a break from guitar for two weeks on holiday I came back feeling inspired and gave myself a fun challenge to write an album in as short a time as possible.
So after 21 days it is complete. I’ve already made three videos for the tracks “From Eastern Europe with Love”, “License to Shred” and “Goldfingers”.
As you can tell I’ve added all my love for James Bond and Neoclassical shred, mixed them up in a giant melting pot and created a delicious broth of maximum shred.
I’d be honoured if you would check it out. It’s up already on Bandcamp and will take a few days to appear on Apple/Spotify.
Here’s the Bandcamp link and let me know if you’d like to see anymore playthrough videos from the album.

Thanks to everyone that tuned into my last video, a comparison of the original J200 pickups in my number one guitar,a Blue Charvel Spectrum which I had replaced with Bare Knuckle Cobra’s.
I got a lot of interesting comments and I think opinions were split 50/50.
After a week of playing them I decided they are not for me. Great pickups as all Bare Knuckles are. But they have too modern a voicing for me.
I think they would be great for someone who wants to play metal on a strat or other single coiled guitar.
But I like a vintage tone. My tone hero’s being EVH brown sound era, Malmsteen 78-86 and Paul Gilbert Laney era in the late 90s/00s.
My favourite pickups are Dimarzio FS1s. So your thinking why not put those in, well I would have already but this guitar is not routed out for the flange on a single coil.
I’ve managed to source a special order without the flange from Thomann in Germany. But it will take up to 5 months 🥴
But today I took a chisel to my guitar and carved out enough space to put one in the neck which you can’t see because of the pickguard.
It sounds great so I can’t wait to get my bridge one and this guitar will sound exactly how I want it to.
Anyway enough waffle
Peace 🤘🍻

Happy New Year to all my subscribers! I’ve been having a much needed rest over the Christmas period.
But I’ll be back next week with some seasonal Vivaldi 🥶 and then with some technique lessons over the next few months.

Well, I’ve just ordered this bad boy. The new MXR YJM overdrive.
I’m curious to see how it will stand up to the original DOD YJM308. A pedal which is beloved to me and has been the main pedal in my rig for many years.
So how will they compare?
Are they identical?
Maybe an improvement on the old, or just plain inferior next to his awesome late 90s tone?
Anyway, look out for a comparison video next week when all will be revealed!
