Started out 45*F this morning then got to 70* on our hike at Peppercorn Hill in Milford/Upton Massachusetts.

3+ miles, hilly and rocky. We enjoyed our hike.

Thrilled to see 4 Northern Water Snakes, one was up in a bush, I didn’t even notice as I ducked
down under the branch,, then Chris said LOOK! 👀 We also found a Snake Skin. That was cool to see. I brought it home.

The trails were filled with 1000’s and 1000’s of Honey Mushrooms. I have never seen so many. So happy to see New York Aster, Whorled Aster, White Wood Aster, Small White Aster and a variety of Goldenrods.

What a great hike we did today.
We went to Diamond Hill State Park Cumberland Rhode Island. There is an old Ski slope that we hiked up. We decided to try some trails we hadn’t explore yet. It brought us to Mercy Woods. We had a great time on the Ridge Trail.

Hiked 5.11 Miles and my Apple Watch says 59 flights of stairs. Oh boy did we feel it. Was a great workout and so happy we did it. We are tired and our feet hurt. Sitting outback having Ice Coffee. That sure hits the spot.

Saw so many Small Green Frogs in a stream. The Jack and the Pulpit Berries are stunning. I had to go in a muddy swamp to get their pictures. I also ended up covered with 100’s and 100’s of Tick-Trefoil burrs. Still have so many to remove. They stick big time.

Gorgeous Chicken of the woods and a lifer Beef Steak Polypore. Also happy to see Silver Rod blooming.

Saw so much more than I can post. I love our nature hikes. Makes me so happy to be out in nature. This hike was so peaceful. One of the most quiet walks we have been on. Just what I needed.

We did an early bike ride on the SNETT bike path. It has been in the 60-70* the past few weeks, which is really nice. Today 82* so we got out before it got hot. (Hot to us in Mass/RI)

I’m so happy my Flying Squirrel friends are back. I stopped feeding them many many months ago due to a Barred Owl that came after them. I haven’t put food out on the platform feeder at night since the Owl and was very surprised they are able to get on my bird feeders. They have to jump far to get to them. Oh how I love them. I haven’t seen the Owl in ages. Hopefully he/she moved on. While I understand the foodchain I don’t want to witness it.

Such a lovely morning for a bike ride. Today we rode the Upper Charles Trail from Milford to Holliston and Sherborn Massachusetts and back.
A great place to ride.
17.16 mile bike ride.

I rode Red #1 my Mountain Bike due to the
crushed gravel path. My Mountain Bike is much heavier than Red #2 my Rode Bike. Definitely can feel it in my legs. A good workout. I’m tired as I also went to the gym early this morning.

We took a nice long walk in the Fairy Forest (Neighborhood woodlands) this afternoon.

My Husband took a fall,, he is ok. He fell over the side of a hill and had a hard time getting up. About a mile later he realized his phone had fallen out. So we hiked back and found it. He was a good sport letting me take a pic. We were chuckling 🤭.

We came so I could record Spice Bush for a future Wildflower Episode. Also every September my very favorite Wildflower is in bloom. The beautiful New England Aster. Makes me very happy to see all Asters and especially the NE Aster.

First time seeing a Female White Banded Crab Spider,, the Female can turn yellow to help camouflage. I’ve only seen the Males and white faze for Females. So that was really cool.

Also a lifer Banded Bullet Gall. A pretty one.

When we got home saw one of my favorite insects a Banded Net-winged Beetle. They fly around slowly and will land on your hand. They sure are pretty.
