I was so excited this morning, when we finished Food Shopping it was snowing ❄️. Sadly it turned to rain 🌧️. I sure was hoping to go snowshoeing.

A rainy cold day is a good day to bake Breads 🥖🍞. I made Honey 🍯White Pullman Bread and I experimented with my Artisan Bread,, added tons of Garlic 🧄and made it into a flat bread. Oh my gosh the Garlic smells amazing. I’ll be serving the Garlic Flat Bread with Chicken Parmesan and Sautéed Zucchini.

Not a good day for my Sprouts 🌱 to turn green. So I set up my Plant Light. I have two Alfalfas,, one is for my Sons Chickens and Ducks. Also my favorite Red Clover Sprouts. 🌱

A cold but lovely sunny day for a hike at Mass Audubon Waseeka Wildlife Sanctuary in Hopkinton Massachusetts 2.60 miles.

Delighted to see 3 White Tailed Deers. I didn’t bring my Zoom Camera. Chris will check his camera later. Found lots of interesting, Mushrooms, Lichen, Moss, Dried Flower Seedheads, Insect Galls and a leaf Fungi that I want to research as it was a lifer called Tubakia suttoniana.

Have a great afternoon/evening/day. I’m going to make some Hot Chocolate and warm
up by the woodstove.

Great hike 3.62 miles 24 flights climbed.
We went up both Lookout Rock and Wolf Hill Northbridge/Uxbridge Massachusetts and Rice City Pond. Very overcast and cold day. We got out before the rain.

Sadly there is so much Graffiti on Lookout Rock. Trails are in good condition except for some down trees which you can easily climb over.

Nice peaceful hike. Found a bunch of Druon quercusflocci Fuzzy Oak Galls, Trembling Crust Fungus, Black Knot on Choke Cherry and Beech Erineum Mite Galls.
Great to see a few Golden Crown Kinglets. Lots of Trees chewed by Beavers.
Happy to see FOS Needle Ice. I think it’s so interesting.

I made an Oatmeal Bread (a new recipe) in my cast iron Dutch oven loaf pans. OH my the bread stuck terribly to the top pan. 😖
I was about to give up. My Husband was able to get it out. A chunk fell off, We gobbled that right down. LOL. Tasted great.

Even though it didn’t come out “perfect” it’s still a good loaf of bread that will be amazing toasted or for a sandwich. Next time I’ll use regular Non-stick pans.

I was worried it would completely fall apart. My Husband is so calm and said It’ll be ok and he was right. 😍

Even thou I have been making yeast breads since I was in High School I can have a mishap. So never give up. Bread baking is so rewarding even when it sticks LOL!! 😂

Was 32*F / 0*C and windy 💨when we started our hike. Grateful for the Sunshine ☀️. Today I dug out my winter coat and lined hiking pants. Happy to be wearing the right gear.

Had a wonderful hike. Really interesting to see a bunch of Beaver Dams 🦫. They changed the habitat a lot. The Preserve made new hiking trails to get around. Picture 5 is one of the huge Beaver Dams. I also found some Wild Turkey 🦃 Feathers. 🪶

Always fun to see the Old Gingras Pig 🐷 Farm Corn 🌽 Silo in the middle of the woods.

All the Wildflowers have died back. Lots Black Walnuts and Goldenrod & Aster Seed Heads which provide food and a place for Wildlife to seek shelter during the winter.

A wonderful hike at Tucker Preserve, Tucker Field, Scott Brook, and Bluebird Loop in Cumberland Rhode Island. Just shy of 3 miles. Some good hills for a nice workout.

I came home and made Bread Dough. It’s just done with the first rise. Time to shape it and get it in a pan.

Met up with my Son and Family at River Bend Farm to take their pictures for Christmas Cards. Was cold and windy with a little bit of snow flakes. Sure wish we got a lot of snow. After the pictures Chris and I took a 3 mile hike. Definitely needed a hike to help burn off all the extra food we ate yesterday. LOL! Came home and had a Turkey Sandwich on my homemade bread. That hit the spot.

Not that we needed anymore treats, but I felt like Brownies with Butterscotch Chips. I’ll have to check my Blog to see if I have my Brownie Recipe posted. If not I’ll add that to my list of future videos to make.
