Itβs fall and I thought I would share my go to recipe for apple butter! ππ
Ingredients: 3 large bags honey crisp apples peeled and cored (one crock pot full of sliced apples) 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup packed dark brown sugar 1 tbsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1/4 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp salt 1 tbsp vanilla extract
How to: Start by peeling and coring your apples slice them into small pieces. I like to use Honeycrisp, but you can use whatever kind of apples you want. Add apples into a crockpot-fill crockpot to the top with apples. Next over the apples and granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and vanilla extract. Mixed until well combined. I like to do this in the evening so that I can put my crockpot on low overnight.
I put my crockpot on low for 14 hours. The last 2 hours I took the lid off to let some of the steam come off to thicken it. Next using an immersion blender, blend apples until desired consistency! After I add mine into jars to gift to family and friends. Make sure to refrigerate to store!
