Equipping Christians to identify the core beliefs of historic Christianity, discern its counterfeits, and proclaim the gospel with clarity, kindness, and truth.

That’s the remedy in Scripture: not an empty command to “calm down,” but a call to fix your thoughts on who God is.

Faith isn’t just agreeing with a list of doctrines. It’s not passive—it’s active.

When Jesus told His followers not to be anxious, He didn’t give them a pep talk. He redirected their gaze:
“Look at the birds... Consider the lilies... How much more valuable are you?”

Faith means choosing, again and again, to fix your eyes on who God is—His goodness, His care, His provision—even when life feels overwhelming.

God doesn’t always explain why we’re suffering—but He always reminds us who He is.
From Lamentations to Matthew 6, the pattern is clear: peace doesn’t come from having all the answers—it comes from fixing our eyes on the One who never changes.

Doug Geivett explained in conversation that one important point to understand is how the resurrection changed everything. Jesus’ resurrection was a massive victory over Satan and his forces—and it marked a turning point in history. After that, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in believers in a new way. That wasn’t the case during Jesus’ earthly ministry.
The specific ministry of Jesus’ disciples before His resurrection looked different from what we’re called to today. For example, when Jesus sent out the 70 (or 72) to cast out demons, heal the sick, and proclaim the kingdom, it was for a specific time and purpose.

We need to be careful with how we apply narrative passages and understand the difference between descriptive events and prescriptive commands. Good interpretation matters.

Instead of being a general idea, “deliverance” has come to mean a very particular way of doing things. And the Bible doesn’t give us instructions or a mandate to do deliverance on Christians. So, people often rely on what they’ve experienced, or what has seemed to “work” in the past.

That becomes risky—because those personal experiences can start to shape our theology. And if we’re not careful, we might base our beliefs more on stories and perceived results than on what Scripture actually says. That’s why we need to think carefully and biblically before adopting practices as “normative.”

As Doug Geivett explained, this creates a message to the church, and especially to people who feel spiritually attacked, that they need someone with special skills and knowledge to be free. It gives the impression that only certain people are equipped to help, and that kind of expectation is deeply concerning.

What’s more, some of these same practitioners teach that all Christians have equal authority in Christ—that no one has a special gift or elevated spiritual position when it comes to casting out demons. If that’s true, why do we need specialists? And if all believers are protected by the blood of Christ, why do deliverance ministers teach that they can be demonized?

These contradictions raise legitimate questions that need to be addressed. Want to listen the whole conversation? Follow the link: https://youtu.be/_RzL-Vhk5_o

Some take clear passages of Scripture on topics like gender, marriage, and sexuality—and present them as vague or confusing, as if we can’t really know what God intended.

But often, this isn’t about a lack of clarity—it’s an attempt to shift a primary issue into a secondary one and that’s something we need to be discerning about.

Too many people think theology drains joy from your faith. But good theology? It’s supposed to ignite it.

God isn’t just worthy of awe—He’s meant to be enjoyed. Deeply. Passionately. Daily.

If you ever feel the need to apologize for certain parts of the Bible, that’s a red flag. We all wrestle with difficult passages at times, but when we find ourselves feeling ashamed of what Scripture says, it’s an opportunity for a heart check.

Ask yourself: Why am I struggling to accept this truth? Do I need to study this passage in more depth to get a better understanding of why it teaches what it does?

This tension often arises around topics like gender roles, hell, judgment, or sexuality—areas where cultural values clash with biblical teaching. But if we feel the urge to soften or excuse what Scripture says, we have to confront a deeper question:

🔹 Do I believe I’m more compassionate or loving than Jesus?

If the answer is yes, that’s a dangerous mindset—one that can lead us away from truth and into deception. God’s Word isn’t something we need to defend or revise. It’s something we need to trust, even when it challenges us.
