Welcome to my channel where we take old clothes and make it fffashion!
My name is Peer Cox, I am a Fashion Designer and I want to inspire you to think twice before you throw away your clothes.
Here I want to spread awareness about all the possibilities of upcycling old garments. Did you know you do not always need to sew to make a cool upcycle? In my work for some fashion brands I never had the opportunity to try and test all the (crazy) creative upcycling ideas I had. Now it is time to share it with the world, here on youtube.
I am not claiming to be a sustainability saint, however hopefully our efforts will result in a #fashionrec movement where we make redesigning more popular than it already is and therefore the fashion world a bit more sustainable.
Please use the hashtag #fashionrec and tag me on Instagram to share your work with me and let's upcycle our way to the top!
*RECYCLE *RECONSTRUCT *RECREATE *RECLAIM *RECORD and ofcourse *RECOMMEND my channel to your friends!

#sneakpeak Many famous inventions were discovered by accident - I also discovered this technique when I had a mysterious accident with my leather jacket. It might not change the world but it sure is a fun way to experiment with texturing leather. Bonus - it is available everywhere, cheap and easy to do. (And yes - I am mean, but I will reveal the technique only in the tutorial coming in a few days lol)

Sweater weather is coming in many places. This tutorial can help you out if you had some shrinkage (or weight gain) but also if you want to update your sweater wish some cute cut outs without changing the fit. (Also, hottip: apparently washing wool sweaters on cold temperatures with wool detergent is not enough to keep the shape. My sweater came out tiny, probably only because I did not wash on a wool cycle!)

New video: Reacting to some more sewing hacks and hopefully laugh and learn something together. If you have any other ideas what I could react to, let me know ! xoxo

Not my usual thing to share - but here is yet another study warning for the risks of micro plastics. It is very disappointing, as synthetic fabrics like polyester have some very lovely qualities for fabric manipulation, are the easiest to maintain and widely and cheaply available in thrift stores.
However, as a sewist or upcycler, I think we should be all aware of this and reduce the risks where possible. As someone who has been using lots of plastic and synthetic fabrics in the past few years, and knowing many sewists and upcyclers do, I think it is important to stay up to date with the research as it is developing quickly.
Furthermore, as a consumer, we should not only consider the environmental impact when buying clothes, but also how the people making them spend the majority of their day, week, month or even life working with those fabrics.
We cannot all be perfect with every step we make, but personally, as someone who is working in my living- AND bedroom I think I will need to seriously think about these risks and reduce my use of synthetic fabrics all together. At this point, it is not just some internet fear mongering anymore and cutting and sewing with fabrics will very likely create lots of in-house pollution which wiping and vacuuming cannot completely prevent.
Stay safe fashion wreckers

Thank you all! As it was my channels birthday last week, I want to thank everybody who has watched, supported and engaged with my videos! And especially the viewers who have left comments on my videos have a special place in my heart, as without those supportive words I do not believe my channel would have still existed!
In the future, I will try to involve some more different kinds of videos, like reaction videos.a Furthermore, as you may have noticed lately already, I will try to use a more elaborate explanation style and I am moving towards a bit of a slower editing pace with less distractions in an attempt to better listen to what my audience wants and hopefully benefit my channel too.

The Never ending Bridezilla Bag... In this one I take upcycling one step further by using plastic trash and CD'S. I had no idea it was gonna take me THAT many hours, was a bit worried during embroidering that it is much to chic for my usual style, then realized I'm not a fashion house but here to experiment and inspire... and now that it's finished I love to have made something quite different than my usual creations and didn't have massive grumpy episodes when it took much longer than expected LOL.

Hello Fashionwreckers..
The idea was there for like 2 years but finally it is there: reaction videos.
I recently was reading the comments under some 5 minute crafts style sewing hacks videos, and realized a lot of viewers did not seem to really see that there is actually quite some poor advice in these videos. Thus, I am stepping in with a bit of a critical view.
Reaction videos are a form of content that I usually really enjoy to watch in different niches. The idea is a little more of a laid-back style, watch--and-learn kinda vibe. Also, this will allow me to upload more regularly as it is (a lot) less time consuming to create.
Admittedly, I almost did not upload this first reaction video. The lighting and camera settings seem to be a bit off, I look even more sick than I actually was BUT the hacks where just too good (''good'') to not upload! And obviously, you cannot record a reaction video a second time. I did slip in more information in the post production, which is not really typical for reaction videos but it did allow me to provide some more insight that I might have missed during the recording.
Side note, it gave me a copyright strike straight away, so I do need to figure out how to navigate that in the future... but for now, I hope you will enjoy these videos as much as I enjoy recording them.

Happy new year Fashion Wreckers! As requested, my videos are a bit less intensely edited nowadays, to make them more easily to understand and watch. Hope you all are enjoying this more laid back style, focussing more on the clothes (what it initially was all about of course ;) )
Classic style, with a modern look: a hand sewn corset shirt that I kinda wish I had for New Years ! Also, let me know what you want to see more of on my channel in 2024.

Hello fashion wreckers, i'm back... I took a lovely holiday break, however I hardly came back and two days later my laptop crashed - properly now. Gone relaxation 🤯 (lol). As I was already thinking about buying a new mac for a while, I finally had a good reason too and straight away ordered one online. Now was the package supposed to be delivered last saturday but you guessed it: it still did not arrive. In fact, the tracking information was not even updated since last friday. Customer service keeps telling me to just wait however, I have a strange feeling about it. In the mean time I am recording some new exciting material and figuring out if I can edit on my old grand mother laptop. In other words, I hope to be back to you soon with more upcycling extravaganza 💚♻️
