Unfortunately, my review of Campaign Evolved has completely bombed. I thought due to my absence I'd probably get between 500 and 1000 views. Less than 100 is bad and kinda of reminds me of why I stopped making Halo videos.
However I still enjoyed making it! It was good to do something other than just go to work and the gym and glad I still have some editing skills while also finding a way to make the process enjoyable.
I didn't get upset when I saw the low views, I actually laughed.
I also laughed at the guy saying I had brain worms 🤣. Reminds me of the guy that wanted to beat me up because I said I liked halo 4 😂.

So what happens with the channel is up in the air right now. I don't want YouTube to be a job and I also don't want to stress about it. I just want to make videos for fun.

My honest untainted thoughts on the game. I find thanks to grifters on YouTube this game is massively over hated, and while it does have issues it was still a lot of fun to playthrough.

My initial thoughts on Campaign Evolved.

I'm currently playing through the game, played last night up to 343 Guilty Spark.

First of all I'm glad I didn't pay £50 to play early because I reckon I would breeze through it in 2 days, so I'm fine playing on gamepass.

It would appear every content creator on YouTube with an interest in Halo hates the game, and thinks it's as bad as having their pet murdered (which is something that actually happened to me, RIP Pepper).

At the start you have the lengthy Pillar of Autumn cutscene and I honestly was not impressed. I was really really upset with the performances from the voice actors for Johnson and Keyes. In addition to this the cutscenes animation is really stiff but paired with photo realistic visuals. This creates an uncanny valley effect and it's just really odd looking. They look unfinished as words do not go with the characters mouths and really just takes away from the experience unfortunately.

That said, the gameplay itself is really good. All of the weapons feel satisfying to use and the art style I find is very pleasant, with the environments looking photo realistic. The lighting is phenomenal. I noticed the plasma pistol while being charged will work as a light source in the darker environments, which is much more faithful to the source material than Anniversary.

It's not an easy game which is good. I'm playing on Heroic and it really does feel like you are in a big war. In T&R during the grav lift battle, hundreds of enemies pour down on you and I started getting Doom vibes from how intense everything got. Killing them all made me feel like a Spartan, and that's without any advance movement. I started to look past the horrendous cutscenes and just started to enjoy the game. I like the gameplay more than infinite, and the variety of environments is really nice to see Vs Infinites basic fields and hills.

It's a damn shame about the voice acting and cutscenes but arguably the most important aspect of the game, the gameplay, I feel the Devs have nailed.

My video review which I'm working on will have a balanced take with criticism and credit where it is due.

New Video!
I'm back! My video on the Alien movies is out now!
It is about the highs and lows of this iconic franchise, probably my 2nd favourite after Halo.
If you watch it, leave a comment saying which of the films is your favourite and which one you like the least.
For example Alien Covenant is a film where nothing really happens, no character as an arc and all the good ideas from Prometheus are thrown out the airlock.

This was my first time appearing on camera and I had to put my webcam on a stack of books to try get it eye level lol. I'll get better in the future.

Hello
It has been a while since I was last here.
Things are still not going the greatest, but they are slightly better now.
And because of that I have started work on the next video.
I have been saying that I want to do more on this channel than just Halo. Its hard to make videos on a game that not many people are playing these days, and doesn't get much love from the developers and publishers.
My next video will be about the Alien franchise. Although i'm going to take my time with it because I need to re-watch all the films and get some footage from Isolation and Dark Descent. As well as get clips from the films as well. I plan to reveal my face in this video (not really a reveal, just appear on camera) to make it more personal.
I'm thinking it will be a good one, and just in time for Alien Earth, and so i'm setting myself the goal of having it out by August 15th. There will certainly be a few hot takes (Alien 3) but it should be a fun video that gets people talking.

From the Precursors, to the first cases of the Flood, to the firing of the Halos, all the way up to Infinite.
Took me a bit longer to make this mainly due to IRl stuff, as well as making a lot of adjustments to the script.

Sorry for being inactive for the last week. I had a video planned but then my friend randomly bought me a plane ticket and so had 3 days to get ready for that 😅
Was great fun but so expensive and a bit chaotic at times, once I'm settled in again I'll continue with the next video.

The script is already finished for the next video!
It will be about the entire Halo Lore from the Forerunner/Precursor war to the end of Halo Infinite.
The aim of the video is deliver this entire story in 20 minutes. I know the story quite well but just spent the last 5 hours jigging my memory. It will be out next week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.
