Ayo! First Monthly Text Post of 2026, let’s get the ball rolling 💞

January was a very productive month. Top 10 Anticipated Games, PS5 Game Collection, news recap on Life is Strange (LiS) Reunion announcement, two Thoughts Videos on LiS & VR Gaming, and my review of Expedition 33. Not too shabby considering my busy IRL schedule 🤓

Collection videos will continue to be my bread and butter, I love showcasing all the stuff I have and the little stories that accompany them. PS4 is the next game collection but I already have a Sonic Jakks Pacific Collection video filmed. Just need to edit and it should be up this upcoming week! 🦔

I decided to return to making dedicated Thoughts Videos whenever news or topics come up. I would save them for the podcast as the discussions would be overall more interesting. However, to be timely and relevant when the news breaks, Thoughts Videos are making a comeback. They allow me to flex my editing skills and keep them fresh in between bigger review projects 🎬

Speaking of, Expedition 33 was so much fun to play! I had a lot of fun making the review, more informal writing style than usual but as my return to the RPG genre in a big way, I thought it was appropriate. 🗺️

Next up: Resident Evil 4 (2005). The script has been done for awhile but I wanted to make sure Expedition 33 got the spotlight. Currently working through Resident Evil 4 (2023) slowly but that will release hopefully before Resident Evil: Requiem drops at the end of the month. A review for RE9 will happen obviously, as soon as I get through the main story and whatever else I feel needs covering. 🧟

TikToks/Shorts are going to be taking a different approach starting now. As much as I like clipping the podcast, the reality is the clips don’t generate new viewers/listeners of the show. It sucks because I have SO MANY clips of the podcast 😭 I will continue to clip the podcast into OPUS Clip but not as much as I did before.

Instead, I’m going to put a little bit more time into dedicated short form videos. I still have fun doing them from time to time but I think pushing them a bit more to get exposure on Instagram/TikTok will benefit my presence on social media. It’s going to be a long uphill battle but I’ll try this out to see if anything changes.

To help with this, I will *hopefully* start streaming again starting as early as this month! I know, this is something I’ve been trying to push since 2024 and was unsuccessful last year. However, my brother helped set up his spare PC into a Streaming PC, allowing me to record raw gameplay without compromising the footage while streaming. I still have to test it out in action but I will announce a YouTube/Twitch live stream at least 24 hours before I go live. The big game I want to stream after a test stream is Resident Evil: Requiem. It’s my Most Anticipated Game of the Year + I think the spooky/scary moment will do amazing on TikTok 😂 I remember streaming The Last of Us Part 2 & Ghost of Tsushima back in the day without Face Cam to “preserve” the gameplay but if the dual PC setup works, I can have the best of both worlds.

That’s all I want to reveal for now. I clearly have big plans and ambitions for “tvsonicgaming” moving forward and I am very confident I can get it all done. It’s going to take a lot of time and work but I think it’ll all be worth it. Thank you for reading as always, your support means the world for this longtime content creator with a small audience. Over the past few months, I’ve been really down mentally. Between my personal life and my videos, it’s been a struggle being nice to myself. The constant worrying about my future as a 27-year-old Bachelor’s Degree graduate in the USA is NOT fun 😭

I feel like there’s always something more I can do to improve myself, my content, etc. I know I’m only human and there’s only so much I can do when I write, record, & edit everything. Possibly a sign I’m “overworking” myself.

But I do realize I had some pretty amazing opportunities this year because of my growth as a creator. I was able to work with the Hershey Company to promote the Pokémon collaboration in June. Then, a few months later, I collaborated with dbrand on the Killswitch 2 & its updated version.

Attending the Long Island Retro Gaming in August as a Press Pass holder. Lastly, the folks at Retro Fighters sent over a BattleGC Pro Controller. Forever grateful to have had the privilege of checking out these products & attending LI Retro.

I am extremely optimistic about my future and the future of this channel. I already have videos planned through March but it’s all about putting in the work to meet those deadlines. All of my free-time is eaten up by YouTube & videos which sometimes makes me question: how long can I keep doing this? I love the creative process on top of playing & analyzing video games but if this can’t pay the bills by the time I’m 30, I might have to hang it up.

I try to not think about that too much but like I said, I’m very excited for my future. Thank you for sticking around, the support I receive truly means the world. I hope you guys had a fun & safe New Years. Cheers 🥂

Wait, it’s December?!!? Here’s the final Monthly Text Post for 2025!

It’s been a bit ‘touch and go’ for myself these past couple of weeks. I got sick right before Thanksgiving (November 25th) and I’m still in the process of getting over it. Although I’m happy with the videos I produced in November, there’s some re-organizing and re-scheduling I need to do in my personal life & content.

Kirby Air Riders; I want to do a review on it but I might have to pass on it (for now) for the sake of my other videos. It’s super fun but there’s so much to do in the game, I need to put more hours in for a proper review.

I took a #freecode for ‘Shooty Shooty Robot Invasion,’ a completely hand-drawn first-person shooter indie game. That’s my next review and should be out within a week.

Sonic Rumble would be next as I’ve been playing it on and off since it launched globally. I have over 10 hours on it and spent a little bit of money on the microtransactions 😅

Lastly, Marvel Cosmic Invasion. I played it earlier this week with a couple of friends and finished it during that session. I definitely want to do a solo playthrough for the sake of experience + try out the other characters.

SpongeBob Titans of the Tide was stuck in pre-order limbo, so maybe I’ll take a look at it in the beginning of 2026 if the time allows.

Three reviews & my Top 10 Games of 2025 videos are all on the docket for the month. I believe I can get it all done but it’s about staying on top of things. Plus with the hectic nature of the holiday season, I can’t possibly predict what’ll happen next 💀

Lastly, I want to talk about the podcast real quick. We mentioned it at the beginning of Episode 176 but in case you missed it, we’re now recording the show on Monday instead of Friday. It’s due to our IRL work schedules shifting around. If you want to listen to the show early, it will be up on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc. Monday nights. But if you’re a YouTube watcher, it will still go out the following Saturday on a every other week schedule 🎙️

It’s a decent change as it allows me to heavily invest into a ‘tvsonicgaming’ upload on Friday if I’m falling behind. Plus, it gives me extra time to edit the TikTok clips for the podcast episode. Maybe we’ll return to recording on Fridays in the future but Mondays are likely here to stay.

🦃 hello HELLO! It’s time for another Monthly Text Post!

October was very busy and successful for videos. Instead of a Sonic Jakks Figure Collection, I decided to do a video on Every DC x Sonic product by Jakks Pacific (right now). The main channel video did good but my TikToks/YT Shorts/Instagram Reels were popping OFF 📈

Specifically, the one about the codes for the DC x Sonic 2.5 inch blind bags. 248K views alone on Instagram and it’s still growing. I might have to do that Sonic Jakks Figure Collection video after all 😂

Another piece of shorts/TikTok content I did was checking out the BattleGC Pro Controller by Retro Fighters. The product landed on my front door step about a month after I reached out which made for a surprise package. It’s been fun looking at products by various companies this past year and I am extremely grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given so far 🙏

NYCC ‘25 was amazing. The VLOG I created wasn’t what I had envisioned but because I was mostly standing in lines, waiting for celebrities/comic creators, a “Day in a Life” VLOG wouldn’t have worked in my opinion. I only walked the showfloor once, spending 80%-90% of my con around Artist Alley. I definitely need to go at least two days next year, all of the hype exclusive merch was gone too but that’s what I get for going Sunday 💀

My quick ‘Should Sucker Punch Return to Sly Cooper’ video was something I did purely out of love for the studio + Sly. I could have spent more time theorizing what a ‘Sly 5’ would look like but I wanted to keep the video & article straight to the point 🦝

Ghost of Yōtei Review is still happening. I finished it late last night on November 2nd (Sunday). Script is about 60%-70% complete, likely going to be done by next week. After Yōtei, I’m going to check out ‘Dispatch,’ a new graphic-adventure game that flew under my radar. If my best friend/podcast co-host Damian didn’t say anything, I would have missed it 😵‍💫

After Dispatch, Sonic Rumble > Kirby Air Riders > Spongebob Titans of the Tide. I believe that’s the rest of the games I want to check out for 2025, so hopefully I can get all those done. I also need to be on top of making ‘review shorts’ as well, I’ve been slacking 😅

I have more original shorts content in the pipeline. Top 10 Games, Comic Books, & Movies to wrap up the year. Collection Videos are definitely going to make a comeback soon™️ with shorts to accompany them.

🎃 It’s Spooky Season, here’s the October Monthly Text Post!

Last month was very successful! I was able to stay on top of the Podcast TikTok Clips while uploading two major reviews for the month. In addition, I decided to do some Live Reaction shorts of the Nintendo Direct which did well across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. I really dislike “reaction” content as full blown videos but I think shorts are fine.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a ton of fun. While I expected the views on that review to be low, I’m glad to have nearly 100 views on it. The Sly 3 Retrospective wasn’t that stressful to release a week after since I played/recorded the game earlier this year, holding off until Sept. to have the video line up with the 20th Anniversary. Maybe I’ll do more Sly Cooper content in 2026, revisiting Sly 4 (again) and my thoughts on a potential Sly 5 🦝

Last Saturday, I dropped my review of Sonic Racing CrossWorlds because I’m the Sonic guy. I could have had it out sooner with the Digital Deluxe Edition like Sonic x Shadow Generation, the few days of early access is nice in that regard. However, your boy is broke and was too busy getting the Sly 3 video done to take full advantage of the early access. Purchasing the game physically is cheaper for me because of my retail connections.

As much as I want to play PAC-MAN World 2 Re-Pac, it’s going to have to wait. Ghost of Yōtei is out and that’s a beefy af game (3 hours in and it’s pretty damn good). I’m definitely going to need a few weeks to make that review before the November/December rush.

NYCC is this week and I’ll be there Sunday practically all day…? I have a few artists/celebrities I want to see. This is the most I have prepared for the con ever and I hope I can make the most of it with just a single day 😭 Should be fun!
