This is my last week of work before I step into my month-long sabbatical — year four of honoring this commitment to myself and my family.

When I look back over this year, I’m proud of so much.
I hosted my second conference.
We celebrated 17 years of marriage.
My son got into college.
But one thing sits at the top of the list — I took two full months off this year. July… and now mid-December through mid-January. That’s something I prayed for years ago.

Growing up, my mom showed up for everything even while working, and my dad provided well for us but missed a lot. That shaped me deeply. I wanted to build a life where I could provide and still be present.

Real estate and entrepreneurship made that possible.
I’ll never forget how small I felt asking for permission in corporate just to go to my kids’ activities. I knew I wanted more for us.
