Prime Day 2026 runs from June 23 to June 26, and this year's event is shaping up differently than anything we've seen before.

Here are the 4 trends defining Prime Day this year:

1. Groceries are taking center stage.

For the first time, everyday essentials are becoming a major Prime Day draw. Last year, 4 of the top 5 bestselling items were grocery or household products, including IV packets, dishwasher tablets, and protein shakes.

Amazon delivered 4 billion grocery items in the past year, and it's making a bigger push in this category. Only 15% of shoppers purchased groceries during the first two days of Prime Day in 2025. Expect Amazon to work hard to increase that number in 2026.

2. AI is influencing shopping decisions before customers even visit Amazon.

Traffic from AI tools to U.S. retail sites surged 3,300% during last year's Prime Day. This year, 38% of Prime members say they plan to use ChatGPT to help find deals, while 1 in 5 expect to use Amazon's own AI assistant.

If you're selling online and haven't considered your AI visibility strategy, you're likely falling behind.

3. The new timing appears intentional.

Amazon shifted Prime Day from July to June for the first time in five years. The event now lands during the FIFA World Cup and just weeks before July 4th and America's 250th anniversary celebrations.

Smart TV shipments climbed 11% in Q1, while interest in BBQ equipment, outdoor pizza ovens, and party-related products continues to rise heading into the event.

4. Consumers still want to splurge. They just want a deal.

About 91% of shoppers intentionally postpone purchases until major sales events. Prime Day is when many finally hit "buy."

Search interest in perfume dupes has climbed 983% over the past five years. Coffee station searches are up 458%. Cold plunge tubs, red light therapy devices, and carbon-plated running shoes are also gaining momentum.

Affordable luxury is defining the moment.

We track trends like these before they peak at explodingtopics.com.

What is the most searched thing on google?

Would you be surprised to learn that the most searched thing on Google is YouTube?

Probably not.

What's also not surprising, but kind of funny, is that the 4th most searched term on Google is ... Google 😂

Honestly the top 5 things that people do search for aren't really that surprisingly at all.

The 5 top most searched things on Google are:

- YouTube
- Amazon
- Facebook
- Google
- Gmail

I would have said that the top 10 things that are most searched on Google aren't surprising, but it is interesting that Wordle is tied for number 5.

The top 10 most popular Google searches are:

- YouTube
- Amazon
- Facebook
- Google
- Gmail
- Wordle
- ChatGPT
- Google Translate
- Walmart
- Weather

I should clarify, that's only for the United States.

If you expand it globally, the results change up some.

The most searched things in the worlds are:

- YouTube
- Facebook
- WhatsApp Web
- Instagram
- Translate
- Gmail
- Google
- Amazon
- Google Translate
- Weather

Social media dominates spots 1-4.

3 of which are owned by Meta (Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram)

AI privacy concerns are becoming one of the biggest issues nobody wants to slow down for.

More people are using AI at work, in school, and in their personal lives than ever before.

At the same time, trust in how AI handles data is still unclear for most users.

People worry about:

- Who can see their prompts
- Whether conversations are stored
- If chats are used to train AI models
- What “private” actually means when using AI tools

And yet, usage keeps going up.

Recent survey data shows that while most AI users are concerned about privacy, a large portion still share personal or sensitive information with AI anyway. Very few plan to stop using these tools.

That tells us something important.

AI has crossed the line from optional to essential.

Speed and convenience are outweighing caution.

This is why AI privacy concerns are no longer just a technical problem. They are a trust problem.

The AI companies that win long term will not be the ones with the flashiest features.

They’ll be the ones that clearly explain what happens to user data, what is stored, and what is not.

AI adoption is moving fast.

Understanding of AI privacy is not.

If you use AI regularly, it’s worth knowing how your data is handled.

If you build with AI, transparency is becoming a competitive advantage.
