"Cut it out" What does it mean?

Cut it out (informal): stop doing that

Example: Hey! Cut it out! That hurts! I told him to cut it out, but he kept on pinching me.

P.S: Pinch (verb): to take a piece of somebody's skin and press it together hard with your thumb and the finger next to it.

Five tips to improve your English vocabulary:

Learning vocabulary is a big part of learning a language. The more English words you learn, the better you can communicate your needs, ideas, thoughts and feelings to other people in English.

1. Write down new words: writing the words helps you remember them better!
2. Revise new vocabulary regularly: make five minutes each day to revise your English vocabulary. The more you look backwards, the faster you go forwards!
3. Read in English: the best way to learn a language is by immersion – spending time completely surrounded by that language
4. Learn from context
5. Use it or lose it: Researchers have found that you need to see or hear a word on average ten times to remember it.

How I achieve an 8.0 score in IELTS Listening only by listening to English Stories?
In order for you to effectively apply this method, in this section I will guide you on how to learn English through English Stories.

️🎯Step 1: Start with easy and familiar English Stories channels. The purpose is to passively listen and gradually immerse yourself in the English environment.
First, you should choose an English Stories topic that suits your interests and English proficiency. You can choose any topic that you find interesting and exciting to listen to, but note that you should choose English Stories that are suitable for your own level, and practice listening to English Stories with increasing difficulty.
In order for you to maintain a daily habit of listening to English Stories, you should choose English Stories with appropriate length and speed. Because if the English Stories are too long, with a speaking speed that is too fast, you will feel discouraged because there are too many things that you don't understand.

️🎯Step 2: Apply active listening
After the stage of listening to English Stories to immerse yourself in the English environment, you can apply active listening methods to gradually improve your skills such as:

 Listen and take notes
- During the listening process, you can write down vocabulary or common sentence structures to expand your vocabulary, as well as familiarize yourself with common expressions of native speakers.
- English Stories often come with transcripts and you can print them out to underline parts that you didn't hear or understand, while also taking notes to learn new words or sentence structures.
 Listen and spell
An effective way to learn English through English Stories is to listen and spell. This process can be time-consuming and requires you to pause and listen again multiple times, but it is a great method to develop your Listening and Writing skills.
>> Tip: Improve pronunciation through Shadowing with English Stories
Utilizing English Stories to practice Shadowing is an extremely effective way to learn English through English Stories. With this method, you can simultaneously improve your listening and pronunciation skills.

️🎯Step 3: Persevere and practice listening regularly
To achieve good results, any method requires a process of consistent and persistent practice. Therefore, when learning English through English Stories, make it a habit to practice listening regularly every day and gradually turn it into a useful habit.

️🎯Step 4: Prepare a speaking task related to the English Stories topic you just listened to
After listening to English Stories, prepare a speaking task related to that topic using the vocabulary, idioms, sentence structures, or expressions you have just learned.
Applying and practicing what you have learned will help you understand and remember the knowledge faster.
Wishing you success in learning English through English Stories ❤

How to memorize English vocabulary effectively?

Looking at the image below, the human forgetting curve will become extremely steep in the first days after people memorize English vocabulary, which means that the amount of vocabulary knowledge remains. Each person's memory will decline significantly. Over time, the slope of the line in the graph gradually decreases and learners still remember a small part of the English vocabulary they have learned.

Therefore, through the forgetting curve, we can draw the conclusion that the amount of English vocabulary knowledge acquired will gradually be forgotten by us over time if we do not develop it again and again!
*Steep (adjective): rising or falling at a sharp angle
