Many Jobseekers facing this type of challenges nowadays. Please comment if you are one of the candidate.

HR: Thanks for joining. Before we start, can you tell me what you actually built hands-on in your last project?

Job Seeker: I learned the concepts. I watched tutorials and read documentation. I understand the flow.

HR: Understanding is good. But for this role, we’re looking for hands-on experience: real tasks you executed, issues you fixed, and what results you delivered.

Job Seeker: I don’t have direct production experience. But I know the steps. I can explain how it works.

HR: Let me be clear on what we need. We need someone who can do these without supervision:

Build a feature end-to-end

Debug errors using logs

Work with Git properly

Handle real deadlines and production support

Communicate blockers early

Job Seeker: I can do that if I get a chance. I’m a fast learner.

HR: Fast learning is a plus, but we also need proof. For example, show me one project where you deployed something, handled an issue, or improved performance.

Job Seeker: I don’t have deployment experience. I did a small project locally.

HR: That’s a start, but your resume says “production support” and “real-time pipeline.” If you didn’t do those, it becomes a mismatch.

Job Seeker: I understand. I added those because the job description asked for it.

HR: This is the gap we often see: companies look for hands-on skills, but candidates list them without practice.
If you’re honest and show a small real project with solid explanation, we can consider you for a junior role.

Job Seeker: So what should I do to match?

HR: Build 2–3 mini projects that simulate real work, push them to GitHub, and be ready to explain:
What you built, what broke, how you fixed it, and what you learned. Then your profile will match much better.

Job Seeker: Got it. I’ll focus on real projects and stop adding skills I didn’t do.

HR: Perfect. That honesty plus effort is what we want.

Why You MUST Learn Cross-Functional Skills in IT (2025 Tip!)

Are you just a tester? Only a developer? Or only doing support tickets?

That won’t be enough in 2025.

Companies now want "T-shaped professionals" – deep in one skill, but broad in others.

Learn a bit of everything that connects with your job:

🔸 QA? → Add basic Java + API testing + Git
🔸 Dev? → Add CI/CD + Unit Testing + Docker
🔸 Support? → Learn Linux + Cloud basics + Shell scripting
🔸 Analyst? → Learn SQL + BI tools + user journey
🔸 Fresher? → Build small projects with end-to-end flow (Frontend + Backend + DB)

Why it matters?

You can switch roles faster

You stand out in Agile teams

You reduce the risk of layoffs/bench

Cross-functional = Career Survival + Fast Growth

👇 Comment your role & I’ll reply what skills you can add 💬

if anyone wants real time interview preparation and mock interviews
contact: luckyithub‪@gmail.com‬

Here are the sample task:

1. Let's say you have a list of Employee objects. Each employee has an age field. Can you write a stream-based code snippet to get all employees older than 30?
2. Suppose you have a list of products with name and price. How would you sort the products in ascending order of price using Java 8 streams?
3. Imagine some entries in your list might have null names. How would you sort the list but push all entries with null names to the end?
4. Can you show how to use a custom comparator within a stream to sort a list of objects, say, by length of their name fields?
5. What happens if two objects have the same length? How would you break the tie?
6. Assume a list of books where each book has a title and yearPublished. How would you sort the books by year, and then by title alphabetically in case of a tie?
7. You’re given a list of students. Filter out those who scored less than 60, then sort the remaining students by score in descending order. Can you implement this using streams?
8. You have a list of Order objects. Each order has a status field like 'DELIVERED', 'PENDING', or 'CANCELLED'. How would you use Java 8 streams to filter only the orders with status 'DELIVERED'?
9. Given a list of Product objects with fields like name, price, and unitsSold, how would you sort them in descending order of unitsSold and get the top 5 products?
10. You have a list of Customer objects, each with a list of Orders. How would you compute the total purchase amount for each customer and then sort the customers by that amount in descending order?
11. Let’s say each product has a discount field as a percentage. How would you filter out only those products with a discount greater than 30% and then sort them by discount descending?
